Re: The Trade Thread
You guys just dont get it. Its not about resurrecting Williams career or who is better. Its about who is worse for our team. Is Smith and Jennings worse or is Williams worse. The way Smith and Jennings play with theyre selfish dont care attitudes hurts a team alot worse then DWill not being a superstar anymore.

I believe I do get it. You asked "why" and I answered "why". Why would we do the deal? We would do it out of a false sense of hope. Why would Brookyn do the deal? To get up from under a declining player's bad contract.
Who is worse for the team? Smith is a cancer who needs to cut out of the team. Jennings is reckless but he's not as a bad as Smith in terms of being stubborn. DWill is a concern because of his ridiculous contract which could cause significant problems with building the team.

D Wills contract is bad but its really no difference in price then both Jennings and Smith. Now, even if you think all 3 players are bad then the question is are we better off playing one bad player or two bad players.

Pistons could potentially still move Smith and Jennings. DWill if he doesn't return to form, could become unmoveable clogging $22 mil of cap space for 4 more years.

That depends where DWill ends up mentally. He was a headcase at the end of his time with Sloan. He could end up being a headcase as he sees his career going down the drain. I REALLY REALLY want Josh Smith gone, so I would be inclined to take this deal if it meant ridding us of Josh Smith.
I think there's a better deal out there that gets us out from under Smith. I would love for us to look long and hard into making a deal with Boston (reunite Rondo and Smith), Houston (reunite Howard and Smith), and Sacramento (just get the dude out of town).

I think its 3 more years which is the same as Smiths. But yes once we get him then we would be stuck with him. But like I said it would create a more balanced lineup and allow a young team to actually develop are young guys better. try to get in the playoffs and gain some experience without these two just playing reckless selfish ball.

You think after all these years of Disappointment and finally having a solid playoff team in Brooklyn with an owner that spends mad money to win, that Deron would welcome playing for a young rebuilding team all over again at his age?
Recipe for disaster.

Dont care if he ever plays. I would prefer that Smith and Jennings didnt play for us every night the exact same way and thats what this trade would ensure. Even if we suck at least we know that the young guys are getting theyre chance instead of sitting around watching these two head cases destroy the game.

This is the problem. Team Owners DO CARE who they pay to play. And, no owner intends to pay $20 mil for a player who doesn't perform, is not motivated and who they won't play. To put it straight, the Owner doesn't care what you think. It is Gore's money and he is not trading for a player who doesn't want to play here and will be an even worse head case than Josh and Jennings combined. Because, that is what Deron is. He already got two coaches fired on his own including a Hall of Fame coach (Sloan). Deron is not coming here.

Deron Williams is more of a head case then Smith and Jennings? Your going to talk about hypothetical situations you just made up of how Williams would act here. Even talking about him with coach Sloan when Smith had constant problems with his coaches in Atlanta and has already had numerous problems with the coaching staffs here in 1 season. Even reports that he went to management about it.

Deron has the Superstar complex and still talks crap publicly. At least Smith and Jennings are a bit more reserved than that. I would rather take my chances with these two and potentially be capable of unloading one of them over the duration of their contracts.

Deron is still a average PG who can think like that and is only a few years removed from being arguably the best PG in the league. Jennings thinks Hes MJ and hasn't yet realized Hes a terrible shooter. Smith plays the game like Hes LeBron or Melo and like Jennings has yet to realize he can't shoot either. These two are dillusional and do not care how it effects they're teams success along the way while they try to be something they're not.

I mentioned it before, but here it is again, regarding d-will and his injury history, doesn't the fact that we have one of the best training staffs in the league mean anything?

I agree 100% with you on this. Trading Smennings for Deron Williams would make this team 10x better. We will just have to get some people around him that can score.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Re: The Trade Thread
This is a trade I would do from a Raptors point of view.
Would trade Salmons & Hansbrough to Detroit for future considerations and Harrellson.
Toronto would cut Harrelson and Detroit has 2 options obvious exercise option on Salmons $1 million buyout either keep Hansbrough 3.2 million for one year or keep him.
Future consideration would be Toronto taking Jenning's but not until Toronto resigned Lowry. Jenning would make a good 6th man back up PG. Detrot could sign Ennis or Parker if he slips and Nelson likely released by Orlando as starter.

No to mostly all these trade scenario's, especially D.Will for Smith/Jennings and Bargs straight up. We get robbed in your #8, Smith for #24, #45, Hendo trade idea too. Green for Smith is a good idea but the Celtics need to give us more.
