Looks like burke and hardaway are looking pretty good so far as rookies,I guess that whole, only MI homers want either (especialy burke) and they wont amount to much in the league, burke starting is looking decent on the defensive end and looking pretty good leading the offense.

Burke looks good huh? Is it his 38% shooting that has you all worked up?

You're a very big advocate of efficiency, but why do you only refer to it when it's convenient? You criticize guys like Harrison Barnes for having a low PER (roughly 13) and Evan Turner (14.7) but continuously hate on Monroe (who has a PER of 18) for his lack of efficiency. KCP has a PER of 10 and his shooting numbers are even worse than Trey's, yet you show nothing but support for KCP. This is probably an oversimplification, but yeah...just a strange trend I've noticed.

Rookies are expected to make mistakes as they transition into the NBA life style, and consistency is not demanded of them. They have to adapt to the physicality, the speed of the game, and the fact that you play 82 games a year. It's a major adjustment. Showing glimpses of potential and maturity is a success imo, if you're a rookie. That's why I've been cool with KCP's shooting woes. He's had stretches where he's shot very well, and his form is solid. And we all love his defense. So far he's had a solid rookie campaign in my opinion, and I think many would agree.

Chauncey shot under 40% his first 3 years in the league and he ended up being an extremely efficient player in his prime.

Burke is getting praise because he's had games where he shows the potential to be a good PG. Games where he has been able to get into the paint and finish, contrary to what many scouts said. He's shot 47% in his last 8 games btw. Here's a game where he showed court vision, passing and the ability to get into the paint while finishing 50% overall from the field (and 50% from 3):

It's mostly a combination of expectations and others getting carried away with their analysis, in some cases it's me being able to see flaws or otherwise in players games because I get to see them more often so their PER doesn't mean as much when I have more to go by. For example, Monroe has an ok PER this year and a good career PER, but when I see his defense, sloppiness and selfishness at times in the post as well as lack of athleticism combined with others on this forum praising him like he's all-star caliber player I'm going to be mostly negative when discussing him. KCP is quite the opposite, he hasn't been efficient at all but he doesn't force shots that aren't there, doesn't turn the ball over and plays what looks to be on the way to being great defense, I also don't have to bring people back down to earth about his ability or potential on an everyday basis.

Players on other teams I don't see often, most of them I saw in college so I'm familiar with a lot of their capabilities but I mostly have to go by stats. PER isn't something I like to throw around too often but with certain types of players it's very telling and easier than breaking down their entire skill-set for somebody. Basically you can't show me a player with a low PER and tell me that guy is efficient offensively but you CAN show me a player with a high PER and I can argue that he's not efficient. I know, it sounds stupid but try it for yourself and you'll see what I mean lol.

No its his ability to see the floor and pass, get into the lane, and defend. My point is alot of people were saying both guys wouldnt hack it on an NBA team and anyone who thought so was going on MI hype for making the finals.People said he would be no more than a backup but it looks like hes doing a good job of running his team, and we all kn ow he can shoot ,it will come around .

Hell Burke can actually use a screen to get to the rim which Jennings has shown an utter inability to do.

Grizzlies sign James Johnson, Bulls sign D.J Augustin, Mike James getting cut by the bulls is news, and dozens of players are racking up frequent flier miles going between their nba franchise and d-league affiliate.

Fantastically mediocre but still better than the NFL or NHL

There's an excellent chance that the Bulls, Nets and Knicks will each miss the playoffs this season.

Who would have guessed that at the beginning of this season?

I think all 3 get it together, unless they are tanking of course.

At least one or two of those teams will make it, because someone has to make it from this pathetic conference. I doubt the true tankers (PHI, ORL, MIL, and more) will stay in front of them for much longer.

My guess on playoff teams:

IND
MIA
ATL
BKN
DET
WAS
NYK
CLE

Of those three mentioned, my pick to miss is Chicago, They have a history of being effective tankers when they choose to. The others misses are CHA (talent), TOR (talent, coaching), ORL (tanking), PHI (tanking), MIL (tanking), and BOS (tanking once they decide to).

I'm the least sure about Cleveland, which could end up being Boston or Toronto.

I know its too early and probably homeristic to say, but I'd rather go for the 4 seed if Indiana gets the #1. I legitimately think we would have a shot at the finals if we continue to play team basketball and inside-out.

^We seem to have a bunch of games where we play like an elite team. If we always played like that, the Heat/Pacers are the only teams in the East that would give us trouble. Being unable to close out games is also really hurting us.

I'd love to get involved and see if we can't snag Jeff Green, especially if Houston is only getting a future first from Cleveland. Unfortunately, I don't think we have enough to offer to Green.
