I'd love to read a trade idea from DetroitSho. Maybe he's too scared to share his thoughts. 8-)

I provide them often, and they at least are CBA-legal.

By the way, I'd love to NOT read a trade idea from George "Neptune" Blaha. He doesn't understand simple CBA rules.

This isn't really relevant but let's be that team that throws out 10 mil for Parsons now that he's a RFA. Let's see what Houston does.

But it's likely not going to happen, Fegan (his agent) already wants him to stay. At worst, it'll be a sign and trade and HOU gets rid of some assets to sign Love or Melo. Also the fact that Morey absolutely loves him despite him trading away players like they're nothing.

There it is! Chandler Parsons is a restricted free agent. Moose next to Dwight, Parsons in our lineup. We'd just have to make sure he resigns. There it is, my offseason plan...

No chance. Horford is a much better player than Monroe, and despite everyone saying that he's playing out of position, he's done great at C there. Since any Monroe trade would have to be a S&T, we couldn't send anyone else back to even up the value.

I'll stay the course of my fanboy trades. Equal-ish. Not saying they would happen...

1. 7 2nd's for 17th

2. Siva, Datome, Mitchell, Harrelson for Dunleavy

3. 4 Teamer out: Jerebko, Bynum, 3 future 1st's in: 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th (Philly absorbis JJ/WB)

4. draft: E.Payton, Capella, Porzingis, 2 of Harris/Stauskas/Young/Anderson/Early

5. Smennings for Snashty (if Lakers strike out elsewhere)
* this trade might not happen, but might not even be good. rook deals outlast their contracts and maybe SVG gets them playing close to their potential.

6. sign Lowry (if 5 goes thru) or Vazquez if not.

7. sign Hinrich

Lowry, Hinrich, Payton, Nash
KCP, Singler, Dunleavy, (2 of Harris/Stauskus/Young/Anderson/Early)
Monroe, Porzingis
Drummond, Capella

balance, some vets, younger, salary non-hell, shooting, no smennings
*shrug*

I'm hoping Houston strikes out on all the big free agents they're targeting and accepts a sign and trade deal of Parsons for Smith. Too hopeful?

A different spin on a previously visited idea:

Deron Williams / Marquis Teague / Mirza Teletovic

for

Jennings / Smith / Jerebko / Bynum

ESPN's trade machine says it works, we dump some salary, flip the idiot twins for Williams (who may or may not have something in the tank), add a young backup pg (who is kind of garbage but he's cheap) and add a stretch 4.

Well I would definitely like to see it.

I don't spend a lot of time making up trade scenarios, but off the top of my mind, one I had was:
Note: this was BEFORE it was reported Deron Williams needed surgery on both ankles, and also BEFORE we lost the 8th pick. This was also contingent upon us being able to draft Marcus Smart at 8:

Smennings to Brooklyn
Deron Williams and Jerebko to New York
Felton and Amare to Detroit

I'm too lazy to post the benefits, just tell me who says no (a month ago) and I'll tell you why they say yes.

The thing is, it's hard to look at a trade scenario that CLEARLY doesn't take the other team(s) saying yes into account and pat the poster on the back about it and seriously discuss it.

NY says no. I don't see Williams swaying Melo into staying, if Melo leaves then you've traded an expiring contract for one of the worst contracts in the league with treadmilling as a best case scenario.

You might be right but I looked at it from the perspective of NY possibly being desperate to retain Melo and not really having to give up a core piece (not sure NY has a core) to get a 2nd banana. Plus they hate Felton in NY so they would be upgrading that area.

But again, this was BEFORE the surgery news, BEFORE I knew of Williams' trade kicker, and BEFORE we lost the pick. Now it's null and void in my eyes.

A lot has changed in a month.

I get the sense Phil isn't all that desperate to retain Melo. He's already gone public saying Melo should take a less than max deal to help a team build and Phil has a very nice contract so I doubt he's all that concerned about Dolan firing him. It wouldn't surprise me to see him willing to completely clear the deck and go after the upcoming Love/Durant/Irving type FAs.
