Ummm continually trolled and baited the entire board to the point that almost unanimously posted about it in the last thread he created!

Yeah, it was that bad! Very few people even bothered to stay on topic - Maker and his trolling and baiting were the topic!

Can somebody give me an example of what Maker would say which made him ban worthy? I know he was always negative and I don't believe I agreed with his logic ever but being a pessimist with floored logic shouldn't get you banned.

His BS had reached that point that a suspension or ban was justified though.

You can't say we suck as season and our players are useless then turn around and say you wouldn't trade KCP, SJ & 2 firsts for Butler! If you believe our players are trash then that's a golden return.

Just like you can't say we're a terrible team in every aspect then whine when we're down 0-3 to the Cavs

There's a big difference between having a different opinion and trolling - in the end Maker couldn't keep his story straight!

@ Manocad - I am a very pessimistic person. I have to continually remind myself to keep my posts less negative... as not to upset the apple cart.

Perhaps I am just an older, once fanatical cad, who lives in the past and appreciated more dedicated players.

I'll keep my lips pursed, walk on eggshells and continue to add my respectful opinions. But... don't think Maker was one of a kind (if indeed his disposition was sincere). I'm sure there are others who aren't pleased as punch.

See above post. There's a difference between pessimism supported with logical thought and just plain insults. There are PLENTY of pessimists here due to the Pistons' last 10 years leading up to the last couple of seasons; probably more so than most team boards.

I finally put him on ignore yesterday. Imy sure they factored in the overwhelming number of people who had him on ignore. If over 50 percent of a board has decided he isn't worth interacting with it sends a pretty clear indication that he isn't here to have real conversations about the team or basketball. My biggest worry was that other posters who might actually enjoy reading these boards and game threads would be turned off and leave based on his constant trolling. He also provided almost no real substance to his posts... just posting negativity to get a reaction from people.

He would say things that made no sense an never gave a reason. Like I remember one game thread he kept saying Drummond is to small and is not athletic. On top of that he always posts when we lost so he could bash.

I never believed he was real. I thought he was a troll account from Day 1. No one can realistically find that much fault with a team they're supposedly a "fan" of.

i tend to be negative about things but its more tough love than anything. this dude sounded like he straight up hated the team.

Trolling and Baiting are "bannable" offenses, although there is some grey area as to what exactly defines it, but I believe many of his posts fall in that category IMHO.

Regardless, we have a community on this board, a lot of good posters and people willing to discuss Pistons hoops. Even if they have differing opinions, the dialogue is intelligent and opinions are respected. But when the vast majority of the community are irritated by a single member, and that person fails to respond to warnings, it is clearly time for him to move on and find somewhere else to be who he is.

Just to put it into perspective: If a cavs fan came onto our board during this series and repeatedly called us garbage and bagged on our players in game threads, they would be banned without a second thought. No real fan of a any team behaves the way maker did, and that's because he's not a piston's fan. There wasn't a case of pessimism/negative outlook, just trolling aimed at getting a rise out of other posters.

I'm a little amazed that some feel this is unjustified. When you start a thread titled "This Season is a Failure" on the board of a team that hadn't made the playoffs for six years prior and did this season? I thought at the time: This should be the last straw. The shtick was funny at times as it was so absurd, but it had become manic of late.

I didn't really mind what he posted as much as I disliked how excessive he was about it. In the last game thread literally every 3rd post was from him, the negative spamming is what bothered me.

I was against banning him, but acknowledge I was in the minority and won't exactly shed a tear. It really was kind of a gray area, like nasty daddy, where it had become enough of a disruption that action was justifiable.
