Ausar will get better just by playing against his brother...

I feel like a game of 21 with Ausar vs Amen might take four hours to finish.

A game of 21 between those two doesn't end. I imagine a game they started when they were 8 years old is still tied at 11 'til this day.

Yup that was brutal to watch. Hopefully he is able to just shake it off and not let it bother him too much I know he's barely gotten any time at all on national TV before tonight.

Missed four straight free throws to potentially win the game.
Lost the game on an opponent three-point make..

His FT shooting (and shot in general) clearly needs work but can't get too upset about it for a glorified exhibition game.

They’re equally athletic but I didn’t think there was as big of a disparity in other areas.

If I recall correctly, Amen came into the draft as the better ball handler and Ausar had a more developed shot.

Is Ausar hampered by the time he missed or is it something else?

Hopefully Ausar can close the gap and improve the jump shot.

I definitely enjoyed Ausar initiating the offense yesterday more than I expected.

OP, it's only because of injuries. Amen slimmed down in his rookie season and bulked up in his second summer. Ausar's schedule was disrupted by injuries so he's lagging a bit and he put on just a few lbs, but it doesn't matter over a 15-year career. He'll catch up in no time, always bet on hard work.

Amen did not look this fluid when he had as few minutes as Ausar. He looked a lot stiffer than now, he's improved on the fly a ton.

How hard would it be to a starting 5 with both of them in it work?

You have to think they eventually want to play on the same team.

I've been a little shocked how much love Amen is getting without anyone outside of Piston land noticing Ausar. Part of it is for good reason: Amen has played a much more key role in Houston's success, and as we all know, Ausar lost months of bball and development due to the blood clotting and continues to lose time.

My only gripe is just give this time. If you love Amen - my favorite NBA podcast just laid out the argument he'll be one of the top five players in the league by 2030 - you will also love Ausar. As their games keep going, noticable differences will be there, but you also may never find two NBA player more similar in all things.

As you said, I think it's mainly just a function of Amen getting more minutes and playing a key role on a team making noise in the stacked West. I also do believe that Amen's playmaking is a bit further along than Ausar, and even though they are both uber-athletic that Amen is perhaps just slightly more athletic than Ausar (although that's a difficult metric to measure). But overall they're not that far apart and their per 36 stats back that up.

I think if Amen is projected to a be a top 5 player by 2030 then by that logic Ausar at a minimum would be an All-NBA or at least All-Star caliber player. Will be interesting to see how they both continue to develop over the coming years.

A lineup of
Myles Turner
Ausar
Amen
Beasley
Cade

Would be okay...you need a stretch 5 and 2 guards with a good Shot

These twins could save the dunk contest single handedly.
