Cade has had a really damn good first playoff series, but Ivey would have helped so damn much breaking down defenders and getting into the lane, and helping the offense.
So damn close to being up 3-2 and this would be the closeout game. No Ivey, and No Stewart. I really wonder how close this team is...
Close to New York? Very close. Even, probably. And they’re a solid team, win 50+, two very good players and another few good ones.
Close to Boston, Cleveland and OKC, and thus a title? Not close. There’s a lot of learning, improving and adjusting that is still to come. We’ve cracked the window, but it’s not even letting a real breeze in yet. That’ll depend on further development from the under 25 crew, smart use of resources and roster spots, trading for or developing a legit #2 guy, and Cade getting more efficient and less sloppy with the ball.
