Too early to worry about that, especially since it's not like Cade has been tearing it up while the rest of the team is awful. Other than this game, he's MOSTLY been part of the struggle when we lose.
Plus he's still a rookie. We need to show more progress during the life of his rookie deal for sure though.

3 blocks from Cade. Not bad for a 6-2 guard.

That great shooting night will bring Cade's shooting percentage "up" to 36% overall, with 27% from three.
Patience, it will take time.

im looking at the box score everybody but isaiah stewart who had a double 15pt/14reb struggled so yeah but 6 to is pretty bad he'll fix that in due time.

45% fg 33% 3pt 87% ft would be dreams for him by end of season. He needs to be involved more than just stored in the corner when all the starters are in though.

How Garza only got 3 minutes tonight, with Stewart in foul trouble, is beyond me. How did McGruder get 5 minutes?

Watching the game I would have thought Nurkic outplayed Stewart but that's not really what the box score shows. Beef Stew with 6 offensive boards and a solid game overall even though Nurkic had a few nice power moves and spin moves on Stewart down low.
This loss really comes down to 11 TO's from Grant/Cade, poor shooting from Bey/Grant, and our bench only making 7 of 26 shots.

Stewart struggled also. Cade found him inside later in the game which set up a number of FTs that boosted those points. None of them counted as assist though, so some fans will blame Cade for only having 1 assist, but he set up his guys nicely.

This is a sign that Cade is feeling a bit more comfortable, this will come more often as we go. Halfway point of the season and he will be much better and we will see the turnovers going down and points way up.

He has a 25usg and takes the 2nd most shots on the team. He just has to start knocking them down.Liqourish wrote:Snakebites wrote:That great shooting night will bring Cade's shooting percentage "up" to 36% overall, with 27% from three.

Some of Stew's points/rebounds got bumped late in game when Portland cleared their bench.
Cade was also 4/4 in the first half and didn't really sniff the ball until late in the 4th, after Portland took a sizeable lead.

He shoots a ton of 3s (more than half his shots), so his overall FG% has zero chance at being 45% but its certainly possible his 2 point attempts could get to 45% or better. Before tonight he was making 42% of his 2 point FG attempts. Let's say he up that to 46% total as the season goes on.
47% on 8 2 point shot attempts per game overall.
33% on 8 3 point shot attempts per game overall.
40 FG% overall on 16 attempts per game.
That would be a great spot for him to get to this season considering he has played 16 of 77 possible games after missing 5 early.
