Post Game Pistons/Celtics Show – We are taking over Celtics Late Night Show
The Pistons will be in Boston for the first time this season to play the Celtics and observe Rasheed in his natural habitat. What does that mean for Pistons fans? A lot of green, a lot of red, blue and white, the possibility of seeing Brian Scalabrine’s transparent mug pretending like he can play basketball, the possibility of Big Baby being a big baby and me co-hosting Celtics Late Night Show post game.

I don’t know why they keep subjecting themselves to my Pistons nonsense, but this is your chance to talk live with Nick and I about the game, the rivalry, the green hate, Larry Bird’s mustache, Rasheed’s allergies to the paint or whatever your heart desires. I will co-hosting this one live with Nick from North Station Sports immediately following the game. So head on over and pick up the phone and call in. I want to hear from my fellow Pistons fans.

That means you need to give us a Call. Let’s take this show over, if you don’t call I may to get Will Bynum to dunk on you. 347-215-7771

Hawks use proficient shooting to beat Pistons
Joe Johnson finished with 26 points, as the Atlanta Hawks used an efficient offensive performance to take a 112-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Game Day Film Session: Big Baby gets spanked
Who’d like to see Boston’s Glen Davis get dunked on like no one should be dunked upon courtesy of the Bucks’ Andrew Bogut? Enjoy.

(Game Day Films are video posts loosely relative to the Pistons opponent and hopefully mildly entertaining.)

Video in the link above^.

24 Detroit (25) 23-43 Pace: 91.3 (29), Off: 101.2 (24), Def: 107.1 (22)
On Friday, Will Bynum was the first Piston in 25 years to record 20 assists in a game, but No. 20 came on a Ben Gordon jumper with the Pistons up 12 and not needing to shoot. It wasn't quite a Ricky Davis moment, but still a somewhat tainted milestone.

Bucks' Bogut, Trail Blazers' Roy named Players of the Week
The Milwaukee Bucks' Andrew Bogut and the Portland Trail Blazers' Brandon Roy today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played March 8-14.

Bogut led Milwaukee to a 3-0 week, which included wins over the Celtics and Jazz. Bogut led the league in blocks (3.67) and was second in rebounding (13.7), while scoring 19.3 points per contest. With a point-rebound double-double in each game, Bogut now has 32 double-doubles on the season, placing him eighth in the NBA. The Trail Blazers posted a 4-0 week behind Roy, who scored 27.0 points on .567 shooting. Roy's 41-point effort on March 11, in a win at Golden State marked his third 40-plus point effort of the season. With his two three-point makes against the Kings on March 12, Roy moved into ninth place on the Trail Blazers' all-time three-point field goals made list.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Charlotte's Stephen Jackson, Cleveland's LeBron James, Houston's Luis Scola, Orlando's Dwight Howard, Phoenix's Amar'e Stoudemire and San Antonio's Manu Ginobili.

23 (25) Pistons 23-43: How long has it been since the Pistons were lottery-bound? They began the season clutching the league's third longest streak of consecutive playoff appearances at eight, behind only San Antonio (12) and Dallas (nine).

Suns assign rookie Clark to Energy in D-League
The Phoenix Suns have assigned first-round draft pick Earl Clark to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League.

The 6-foot-10 Clark was the 14th overall pick in the draft out of Louisville but has not been part of Phoenix's regular rotation. He has appeared in 45 games, averaging 2.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per contest.

He scored a career-best 14 points on Nov. 27 against Minnesota.

Injured Cleveland center Shaquille O'Neal has rejoined the Cavaliers
O'Neal, who has been out since tearing a ligament in his thumb on Feb. 25 and undergoing surgery, has been resting at home in Florida since the operation.

He was back at the team's facility on Monday, but did not speak to reporters after the Cavs practiced and left for a game in Detroit.

General manager Danny Ferry said O'Neal met with doctors and will be starting rehabilitation. He will not be traveling with the team. The Cavaliers, who traded for O'Neal last summer, are counting on having him back for the playoffs.

Rodney Stuckey perhaps more shaken than he lets on
Rodney Stuckey is always talking about his little girl, who lives out west. Whenever he isn’t busy, he calls her -- sometimes right after postgame interviews.

So it isn’t surprising that Stuckey, 23, is taking his time returning to the Pistons after the harrowing incident in a loss at Cleveland on March 5 in which he had to be taken from the arena on a stretcher. He will miss tonight’s game against the Celtics, his fifth straight. Since then, a battery of tests has shown no problem with his heart, and he has been cleared to practice.

Basically, Stuckey can return when he feels comfortable. But although he won’t admit it publicly, I gather that he was a bit more disturbed by the incident than he has let on. And who can blame him? You have to figure that, the next time he dons a Pistons uniform, the incident will be in the back of his mind. How could it not be?

The Pistons vs The Celtics
The 23-43 Pistons are in Boston tonight to take on Rasheed Wallace and the 41-24 Celtics. I realize the Pistons aren’t the team they used to be, but this particular opening sentence to the NBA.com preview of the game sort of made me mad. “It was a rough week for the Boston Celtics. A visit from the lowly Detroit Pistons to open a brief home stretch could help them get back on track.” Via NBA.com

Lowly….really? We aren’t New Jersey just yet. Ben Wallace is still listed as day to day and as we know Rodney has no timetable on his return.

Tip is at 8:00 pm EST and will be broadcast on ESPN with the radio broadcast over at 950 AM WWJ or follow the action online over at NBA.com. And remember, I will be live post-game taking your calls over on Celtics Late Night Show, so do me a solid and call in to represent the D. 347-215-7771

Pistons-Celtics national TV style
The Pistons (23-43, 7-25 away) will be in Boston to take on the Celtics (41-24) tipoff from the TD Banknorth Garden is at 8:00 pm est. The game can be viewed nationally on ESPN. List live on WWJ 950.
Celtics’ Snapshot
Home record: 19-12
Last game: 3/14 (Sun) L 93-104 @ Cavs
Last 10: 5-5
Streak: Lost 1
Vs. Pistons: Jan 20th – Bos (86) @ Det (92) / Mar. 2nd – Bos (105) @ Det (100)
Injuries: Tony Allen (hip: day-to-day)

From ZERO local coverage Saturday against the Hawks to a nationally televised ESPN game tonight. It’s the Pistons who will look to add to Boston’s struggles, but a look at NBA.com’s front page and you might mistake it for a Celtics/Lakers game.

Rodney Stuckey will miss his 5th straight game. Ben Wallace is still listed as day-to-day with a right patella tendon strain. Jonas Jerebko is uncertain for tonight’s game after injuring his shoulder against the Hawks.
