i think i will, i didn't used to have it because people can associate yourself with a team more easily and then just dismiss some of your posts, but seeing as how i'm banned from posting on the general board i don't really care.

it's true i only started to follow the pistons because jennings came here but i've grown attached to the team, from SVG and management to the players.

this happened with me and the vikings too, i got into football because i loved watching adrian peterson but i slowly became more and more attached to the team, not just AP.

sorry guys, i'm here to stay :P

No need to apologize, bro! I'm glad you're here. I just needed to clear that thought from the back of my head.

I hope your guy Jennings stays, too, even beyond this year. Doesn't seem very likely, though.

Too many infractions, essentially. The first two I deserved but I still think the third was bogus. The first was a few years ago, in a preseason prediction thread a ton of bulls' fans were saying that they were better than Miami so I said something like 'bulls' fans will be swimming in their own tears come this may'. A global mod who happens to be a bulls fan nailed me for trolling.

The second time was backseat moderating, I said a thread already existed with the same topic. That second one got me booted from the GB.

The third was in the PC thread, and it really postponed my ability to appeal. There was a global mod who was way off-topic in a thread so I reported the post. I got an infraction for 'abusing the report function', despite that being my first time reporting a post and that not being a rule in their official forum rules. I know it's not smart to report a mod but I was feeling especially frustrated with this individual and had a petty moment.

I've appealed like three or four times and been rejected every time so I don't bother anymore. I'm not missing the GB and I don't know how much I'd add there anyways. I just laugh that people can break violations left, right and center in the GB but yet the standard is so high for getting back in.

Oh well, it just means I get to post here more, which I find more enjoyable anyways.

I've said for awhile you're one of my favorite people on here.. The fact you are banned from the General Forum is very funny to me.. I got warned yesterday for calling someone "son"..

We love you with us bro.

SVG said he was willing to pay more for the sake of having 5 years with no outs. Many of the FAs signed this off season have player options after their 3rd or 4th years where they will likely opt out and renegotiate for a larger contract in a bigger cap. Definitely a good justification for why he was willing to go so high.

^To chime in I once got banned briefly the GB for saying that I felt Wilt's 100 point game was overrated and that some of Kobe & MJ's best scoring performances were better in comparison. In a thread titled "something about Wilt's 100 point game". A mod felt that my post was off topic and took away from the thread. Ironically rest of the thread was filled with posts talking about Wilt's claim about how many women he's slept with. Be careful on the GB, not all of the mods take a laissez faire approach like the ones on our board, and that's putting it politely.

It really does feel like that with them.

Reggie/KCP/Stanimal/Drummond have that going to work, blue collar, Detroit vs. everybody attitude and feel to them. I love it. There might be individual players that are more talented, but I'm really embracing the core that SVG has built here. It feels familiar. it feels like Detroit Pistons basketball.

It all starts with our coach and GM and the continuity there. Which translates to our lockeroom culture. i like that i feel like we have professional players on our team. Guys that are locked in. More importantly, we've surrounded Dre with players that love to put in work. which should traslate to him putting in more work

Well, the Pistons board does not have a good history with mods, or global mods either. It's what essentially fractured the Pistons board, one of the biggest on realgm. It was a Miami Heat mod (it's been years now, so specifics escape me)and a global mod, and it was so.poorly handled (I mean our own mods starting fighting with mass, and other mods getting Piston posters unbanned e.t.c. it was a crap fest) that a huge chunk of Piston posters left, and created wtf detroit (which is still active). I joined there, and didn't come back here for awhile, but I just stopped posting altogether, until I ended up back here.

The Pistons board used to be massive, one of the biggest, really awesome. Maybe it'll get back that way, but man was that handled poorly back then.

I try not to post on the general board, as it almost seems like a trap. Say the wrong thing, and someone, who doesn't like your team, your done. What I try to do, is post, get my anger out of the way, then self edit, until it makes more sense, even keel wise.

The mods here (past and present)have always been fair, and stick up for Piston fans. So if o have to let off steam, or make a joke at the expense of Raptor fans, I do it here.

Honestly i've always hates Chi and GB, but always felt like the Vikings were in the struggle together with us. Always great games etc. also love AP as well. Then last offseason happened and how the organization treated him was just completely embarrassing. Its sad that he still has to play for them, but at least he's getting that paper

Not sure if it's been discussed, but what do the Pistons plan on doing with Jennings and Jackson? Who will start at PG? Will they both start? I can't see either one of them coming off the bench.

Ya the whole process is completely f* and the abuse of power is rampant. i swear when i read the policies, some of them sound like middle school kids came up with the solutions and process. I try to be understanding as moderating a entire site and multiple boards can't be easy, however what i don't understand is how moderators don't have to follow any of their own policy's. If you go to the GB there are multiple post where mods attack posters, troll them and clearly violate GB policy, yet they are never punished. i have personally brought them to the "higher powers" attention whom literally just blow it off.

The one thing i hate about RealGM is that there is no value in loyalty on this site. you can have 100 post and 20,000 post and be banned instantly all the same if you piss off the wrong mod. Which makes me as a poster not want to add value to something that is worthless. i don't know how we got the mods we have whom by all indications are awesome and not petty because you disagree. i have a feeling our board is about to skyrocket with SVG's plan, and we are going to need as many sensible posters as we can to fight off the ignorance. KEEP ON KEEPING ON

wow, we should create a OT thread that discusses the history of our board and mods to watch out for. had no clue we had this kind of history and now my negative encounters with some older posters kind of make sense. i always wondered why Detroit posters get targeted at times
