Dinwiddie is 4th stringer again now - Rondo|Calderon|Grant|Dinwiddie

Actually his option probably isn't picked up now as Denzel Valentine can get spot minutes at PG too.

Kings rescind qualifying offer to Seth Curry. I wonder what he is going to get signed for? :O

Think we could get involved?

Am I daft? I just don't get why everyone wants another SG. I mean we have both Hilliard, and Bullock, and both are young and developing. Both are sweet shooters as well.

People just want a name or something?

If the Pistons are looking to sign another player, I wouldn't mind a pg/sg for just in case. After last year, I want as many pg's on this team as possible.

Seriously. Sign two more. I couldn't take watching our now deep and talented bench have to struggle with a nightmare pg again. I'll lose my mind. Of god, I just had a dinwidde flashback. *shiver*

Very nice deal for Dallas. Williams is just okay these days but that's still great value in this cap climate.

Looks like Durant is down to Thunder and Warriors.

I thought the Spurs would have a shot, but I guess deep down I figured if it came down to two it would probably be those 2.

Is there a source that said he eliminated Boston? I am really surprised he is actually considering GS. Winning with the team that set the record for most wins in a regular season wont be perceived anywhere near as favorably as it would be if he won in OKC.

The wiretap, per someone at ESPN.

We could use more creators on offense, and SG is by far our weakest bench spot (and a position where you can get some creators). Bullock is fine, but he's really just a spot-up shooter. No reason not to try and improve the team if we can.

Although I'd be down for Seth Curry with the space we have left, I get the feeling that's not going to happen. Stan mentioned two more bigs, so that's probably what it's going to be, another big.

In any case, if we acquired Seth and actually played him, there's no way Bullock and Hilliard would develop much. Beyond a rookie year to acclimated, guys need minutes to get better in most cases. I think the org likes Hilliard enough to give him that chance. Of course, if he keeps getting hurt, he'll go the way of Dinwiddie.

The minutes right now probably look like:

PG: Reggie 32, Smith 16, Gbinije or Brown (emergency, blowout)
SG: KCP 36, Johnson 12, Bullock or Hilliard (may get some actual minutes)
SF: Morris 30, Johnson 18, Bullock or Hilliard or Gbinije (emergency, blowout)
PF: Harris 32, Leuer 16, Ellenson (emergency or blowout, at least to start the season)
C: Drummond 34, Baynes 14, Ellenson or Leuer (emergency, blowout)

I think Morris gets his minutes reduced by Stanley, and Harris will sit some for Leuer. As others have mentioned, our worst backups are probably at the 2 now, so KCP ends up with the most minutes.

It's basically a nine man rotation, although I'd expect to see some of Bullock, Hilliard, and Ellenson at times. If Curry were on board, we're either reducing Ish's minutes, Stanley's minutes, or one of the forward's minutes with Stanley playing more SF. I guess we could reduce KCP's minutes, which might make the most sense, but I don't see SVG doing that. He loves the guy.

I do think Curry can ball, but he wouldn't improve us that much and would cost us development time on someone else. He won't be super cheap, because no one is, so it's probably not worthwhile. We may just bring back Anthony as third center instead.

Ain't no way Ish Smith only plays 16 minutes

And I think you can make a case for us not needing to spend more $$$ at SG considering KCP, SJ, RJ, Benji, Bull and Hilly could all log minutes there

Another big might be the smart move - replace Baynes before he bolts kinda thing...except we drafted King Henry

I don't know why 16 minutes for Ish would surprise you... he's only averaged more than that for three partial team seasons, and two of those were for absolutely wretched Philly teams with no better options. The other with New Orleans after the injury to Jrue.

He's mostly been a backup, and he was signed here to be a backup. I really don't think we're going to see much, if any, of Reggie at the 2. He's not a good enough spot up shooter to make it worthwhile.

Durant to GS. Wow. No confidence in being able to lead a team. Does this mean I have to pull for Lebron now when it' Cleveland vs GS final? Probably.

LOL at Westbrook - wonder if he will be so chesty now without his Batman. Detroit murks Thunder twice this season.

Well, wonder what our team will look like in 5 years when the chance of making the Finals is over 0%

Durant the woman.. I'm old enough to remember the league in the 80s. NBA is a disgrace now.

If you can't beat them, join them. Durant is free to do what he wants, but he loses some serious street cred with this decision. It ultimately just comes across as weak to me, regardless of the other arguments for signing with the Warriors.
