How would you figure it wouldn't be compliant? The teams are paying those salaries.

Sure, the players in question requested that those contracts be given -- but that's not materially different a condition than, say, Kawhi requiring the Clippers to trade away a massive haul for Paul George before he agreed to sign in 2019.

On paper it is not circumvention. There's no way it would be actionable since there are no rules that dictate the criteria teams use to select players for their roster.

But it is absolutely nepotism, and in spirit it can certainly be argued that they're giving Lebron a material benefit beyond his own contract.

And people are allowed to not like it.

You want a backup of PG of decent quality, there’s now one available with some history here. Charlotte cut Dinwiddie today.

I wonder why he was waived so close to the season.

Dinwiddie just became a much stronger possibility, at least in terms of the chances that we go after him. We need another rotation quality guard unless anyone thinks Sasser is ready.

He's the sort of decent stop gap solution that doesn't cost us much that makes sense to go for right now.

Didn’t know where to put this, but this is a pretty cool stat, courtesy of ESPN:

‘Number to watch: 5th
The Pistons ranked fifth in paint points per game and in opponent paint points per game last season. They were the only team to rank top five in both categories last season and the third team to do that in the past 10 seasons.’

Paint dominance is awesome.

Dinwiddie signed in Germany. I find that highly annoying. We better be getting Beasley back if we’re keeping an open roster spot.

Pelicans signed DeAndre Jordan, so apparently Weaver just realized there was a center available that he hadn’t acquired yet
