I’m still all in on Sharpe. He has a lot to work on, for sure, but that length is special and so is his shot creation. I’m happy he got measured at the combine, too. No secrets.

I see a lot of sources listing Sharpe as 6'6" with a 7' wingspan. However I also saw an article where he himself said he was 6'4" and about 200 lbs with a 7' wingspan. However I don't give a rat's ass if he really is 6'4" rather than 6'6" as long as he can put the ball in the basket.

I said before the lotto I've got 5 guys in this draft as potential all stars. Were picking at 5. I'm feeling good about Sharpe and Ivey just need Weaver to deliver it.

He measured officially at the combine today (see below). His own numbers were accurate, so at least not lying lol.

6'5.25 in shoes, 6'11.5 wingspan, 8'7.5 standing reach, 198 lbs with 4.8% body fat

Ya, no thanks. Too unproven for a big that was supposed to be a giant at the guard position and he isn't. Just watching his videos you can see his handles are not great either.

I don’t know about not being a true wing. He’s within an inch of Jae Crowder and Jimmy Butler but is longer than both. He’s only 2 inches from Grant and he’s a 4.
He's 6'4 without shoes he's like KCP size crowder and butler are big body guys..lol

They both had 3 years on Sharpe when they came out. I think he has the frame to fill out.

Isnt he a PF type guy though?

If he had dribbling skills and could break down a defense, that would be great size. If he stands by the basket, he's small.

Is he a tweener type?

If things really break his way, he’s more like Kawhi than anyone else has been recently,

Yeah he's kawhi sized I think he's a 3 and smallball 4 he's a dog on defense and still has a offense game put up some crazy numbers.

Dude has huge hands, too.

Players just don’t develop the way Leonard did very often. But he’s starting from a similar spot, body and skill-wise. Shot about 80% from the line, clearly has touch.

I love Eason. I don’t love him at 5, but I wouldn’t hate it, either. Def move Grant if that’s the pick.

re: Eason, its pretty funny just how slow the mainstream scouting areas like ESPN/The Ringer/The Athletic were to catch on to him.

If you check the Tari thread on the draft board here, I was saying he was a top 5-7 guy since Jan-Feb. Places like ESPN had him as a 2nd rounder at the time. It's not even about how he ends up as a pro, but just based on his height/wingspan/hands/athleticism/ production alone, it should've been obvious that he's the type of guy that will rise and that he was way way undervalued as a prospect.

I'm not sure where he ends up on draft night, but I certainly won't be surprised if he goes in the top 5-10.

After listening to many podcasts. Pistons pulse, Detroit bad boys and many others I think the pick is Murray or Ivey. I dont see the Pistons taking Sharpe at all. The fact that Hayes was unknown and hasn't produced much may sway Weaver for more known less developmental players.

It's Ivey or Murray

I know this is a little dramatic but I’m going to be (and preparing to be) pissed if Weaver doesn’t take Sharpe. I think he has the potential to be a top 2 player from this draft and don’t feel it’s a given that Murray will be more than an average starter on a winning team. This teams window to compete isn’t 2 years away. Taking Sharpe and developing him, playing my the lottery next season and then going into that free agency with money to burn should be the play.

I know people some here what to max Ayton, but I don’t think theres a world in which some team maxes him and Phoenix let’s him walk without a replacement.

There’s not going to be a quick fix as such, and we should be aiming high playing the long game (lottery) which is only another season before we truly push for wins.

Return to Detroit Pistons
