I would start Monroe at Center and Murphy at PF, with Ben and CV as backups.

btw, I thought Murphy was already on the Pistons...oh wait thats Jerebko.

NJ will give Detroit a draft pick for taking Petro, not determined whether 1st or 2nd rounder yet.

Make it the Lakers 1st (from the Sasha/Joe Smith trade) and let's get this thing completed!

Besides being blonde white guys, they are really nothing alike. :-? Jonas is athletic as hell and a hustle player, Troy is slow yet skilled. Troy is a good face up shooter in the 15-20 ft range, Jonas does his damage at the rim or behind the arc. Both are solid rebounders, but Jonas is a much better defender. I really don't get the comparison at all really.

Just now, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Nuggets want to add Al Harrington into the deal and the Nets are reluctant.

Reluctant or not, the Nets are alreay trading half their team. I don't see how they could take on Al and his contract....

I don't get the Nuggets. They're already fleecing the Nets...just seems odd to me.

If we get a draft pick included for Petro, then **** yeah you do this deal. His deal is worth that.

Make it happen Joe. This deal could really help the Pistons out in the long run.

The Pistons and Nets agreed on principle for this trade, it's the Nuggets/Melo that are holding it off... But hopefully the ongoing talks will include a pick for us

^ It's not Melo holding up the deal, it's Denvers FO that don't know when enough is enough. Reportedly, they were supposed to sit out the traded players last night while NJ and Detroit finished the deal. NJ and Detroit agreed to the final Petro piece and then Denver played Billups and Melo. Now, Denver is trying to dump Harringtons albatross contract on Jersey as well, which isn't financially possible.

It really sounds like it's all agreed upon, but Denver has cold feet.

Detroits part is clear though. We send out Rip Hamilton. We take Troy Murphys expiring contract, Johan Petro and a pick (supposedly LAL's 2011 1st). If this goes through, it's a great deal for Detroit. Dumars will be moving Rip for an expiring contract and a 1st. We'd have to cut someone though, most likely Terrico White, to get to the max 15.

Yes it is. Make a separated deal. Sasha for Harrington and that's it.

Trade ID #5806070

You get rid of Prince and Rip and get Murphy's expiring plus Morrow and Outlaw. Thoughts???

We're on the verge of trading Rip for Murphy.

Why would we add Prince for Morrow/Outlaw??

No way. What's the point of getting rid of Rip if we take back Morrow and Outlaw's equally long deals? They're younger, but they're not worth that kind of money either. No reason for us to swap the expiring contracts of Prince and Murphy.

+1

The point of moving Rip is to get out from under a big contract. What's the point of doing that if we're just going to trade Prince's expiring for two worse players on long contracts? :-?

Denvers dumb ass had better stop playing around with this crap, becuase we are NEVER, EVER, EVER, Going to get a better deal for RIP. An expiring, AND a first round pick? If you had told me that even a few weeks ago I would have punched you in the face, becuase you just spewed garbage into mine.

C'mon Denver. Stop holding up the damn show already. It's time to move on, and man what a whopper of a deal for us. I could care LESS about Petro's supposed bad contract. Getting that first is awesome as ****. We would have one turd pick(The lotto pick Joe WILL screw up)and one gem, that Joe will mine for gold.

This is almost too good to be true...

Hell, I was at the point where I was backing off a team having to include a pickle for the ham sandwich in retrun.

Chris Broussard just said on SportsCenter that Detroit will receive a 2nd round pick to take on Petro's contract. Not the 1st rounder we've been throwing around here on the boards.

Broussard just said on ESPN it will be a second rounder from the Nets. Broussard also implied that our part of the deal was done, that the Denver and NJ were working on the last bit of players

We will get Murphy, Petro and a second for Rip. It should happen today!

edit: ParrottK beat me to it

Pistons have Raps 2nd and Den 2nd in 2011. I hope NJ 2nd is in 2012, there isn't alot of depth projected in this draft

Return to Detroit Pistons
