1. Trade Jerebko, Bynum & future lotto protected pick for DeRozan.
2. Jennings needs to become more of a true point.
3. Smith plays only half his MPG at the 3 & only take 3pt shooting to 3 per game(only when wide open).
4. Focus on defense & cutting turnovers.

I feel these 4 moves would make us a 3-4 seed and make the 2nd round and maybe more.
We'd have 6 players who could give us 20+ points any given game.

Jennings/Stuckey/Siva
DeRozan/KCP/Billups
Smith/Singler/Gigi
Monroe/Smith/Mitchell/CV
Drummond/Monroe/Harrellson

We need to move CV for a productive 2/3 rotation caliber player on a longer term contract. We don't have any bench outside of Stuckey and it's a problem. I think our starters will be fine as they come together - remember we have four new starters and a new coach/system this year, it's going to take time. And Moose and Smith will improve at their new positions assuming they're putting int he work at it, and just from logging big minutes there during the season.

I like the Martell Webster for CV deal - something small but could make sense for both teams.

Afflalo is what we hope KCP can become. Folks want to give up on KCP now, when it took Afflalo 3-4 years to break out and even longer to become what he is today. I don't think he's remotely available - especially since we don't have our first this year (thanks Joe). Expiring Stuckey and a protected first might have got Orlando to listen - but without the pick, we don't match up at all. I don't trade KCP in any Afflalo package.

Why for us? We need a productive SF. Why for WAS- with Ariza playing so well and drafting Porter, they really don't need Webster and may look to clear his salary. Besides, Wall has been pining for a faceup 4-which is exactly what CV is.

Wiz fan here. Not even close on Martell. He is the perfect backup wing for the Wiz and a team leader.
With that said, I think your team identity is quickly defensive minded with steals, transition points, and forcing trunovers. Getting a player with these traits while also spreading the floor seems like a Trevor Ariza to a "T". I am trying to draw together a 3 way to get you Ariza while sending out CV plus incentive.

Something like:

WAS In: A. Johnson (2/6.5M), S. Novak (3/3.7M)
WAS Out: Ariza (1/7.7), T. Booker (1/2.4M)

Det In: Ariza (1/7.7), T. Booker (1/2.4M)
Det Out: CV (1/8.6M), KCP (4/2.7M)

Tor In: CV (1/8.6M), KCP (4/2.7M)
Tor Out: A. Johnson (2/6.5M), S. Novak (3/3.7M)

Washington takes on salary for front court depth and 3pt shooter
Detroit becomes even longer and more athletic while getting a lunch pale PF (Booker) and 3 & D SF (ariza)
Toronto cuts salary and helps the tank while getting a top ten pick from this past draft to build with.

Thoughts on this framework?

Honestly at best this is a lateral trade for us, meaning we shouldn't do it. CV's expiring could be valuable towards the deadline and Singler "supposedly" was kept from the BJ trade because the FO wanted him. Also doesn't Webster have injury history?

2) Detroit trades Josh Smith, Jonas Jerebko to Denver for Danilo Gallinari, JJ Hickson
Why for us? We need a sharpshooter and Gallo is that guy. Why for Denver? They have a SF glut and Smith can give them defense and toughness. Its a gamble for us since we don't know how quickly Gallo can rehab but I think he's the perfect SF to pair with Monroe/Drummond.

Is Gallo back from injury? While i do like this trade, Gallo's going to take some time to get back into game shape , which we may not have time let happen and if i recall correctly it was a major knee injury, meaning idk if he's the same player and before. i do like the acquisition of JJ or JJ

1st rounder for DD!? absolutely not, while he's balling out of his mind right now, his history would dictate he'll fall off, and even if he doesn't, what exactly has DD done with Tor to take them to the next level? if we are trading another pick, it better be for a great not just good player.

2. Jennings needs to become more of a true point.

????????

1. how does this trade make him more of a true point
2. How has he not been more of a true pg

3. Smith plays only half his MPG at the 3 & only take 3pt shooting to 3 per game(only when wide open).

What in the hell? this trade thread bud, not whats wrong w our pistons. Honestly i agree with your opinion on smith, but wrong thread

We don't need players that can give us 20+ any game, we need players that can prevent opposing players for going 20+

 not even close, your back up SF has so much value? sorry bud but that's ridiculous, detroit gives up expiring and a good back SF, for maybe a minimal upgrade.

Something like:

Det In: Ariza (1/7.7), T. Booker (1/2.4M)
Det Out: CV (1/8.6M), KCP (4/2.7M)

I actually like ariza a lot, however IMO he's playing way above his head and his history would dictate he's going to come back down to earth eventually. If he doesn't, he's going to want a lot of money next year which i don't think he's worth. Also this deal makes 0 sense for detrot, we give up expiring and a lotto pick for good but not great SF? Then you take into account that we are giving up players that can spread the floor for 2 guys that are going to come off the bench, no thank you.

Ariza is not worth KCP by any stretch so its a no go. Replace KCP with Singler and its far closer.

Ummm. Yeah, Martell is a key role player for our team. How is giving him up while taking on significantly worse player and money a good idea (BTW, how do you expect for us to take in over 9M when Martel makes 5M. Martells averaging great numbers while being highly efficient (.61 TS, 125 ORGT, 15.8 PER, .162 WS)

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... tma02.html

As far as my proposed trade, Detroit his supposedly looking for a 3 & D while not jeopardizing future cap space(Monroe), Am i wrong? Seems like Ariza is the perfect player for that. If you guys don't want to give up KCP, how about Seraphin instead of Booker and Mitchell/Siva instead of KCP?

id do Siva/CV, Singler/CV or heavily protected future 1st/CV for Ariza, but that's probably about it.

Whoa, i didn't propose this trade, i'm just point out, your acting like we are asking for some allstar, when its just a KEY role player on YOUR team. Kyle singler is a key role player on our team, so like i said, really no point in giving up a expiring for a player that MIGHT minimally be better.

I appreciate the stats, but honestly, he's still a role player, Webster doesn't take either team over any hump.

that proposed trade seems a little more likely for detroit, i would do it, but i don't think Washington would.

TO TORONTO:
SF/PF Josh Smith
PF Jonas Jerebko
PG Will Bynum

Toronto trades Gay to give Ross more PT and upgrades their PF spot:

Lowry
DeRozan
Ross
Smith
JVal

TO DETROIT:
SF Rudy Gay
PG D.J. Augustin

We trade Smith, as he just didn't fit here, especially at SF. We get a legit SF in Gay, who's efficiency likely increases here as he wouldn't be our #1 offensive option - like he is in Toronto.

Jennings
KCP
Gay
Monroe
Drummond

Or for those of you that feel JSmoove would be a better long-term fit next to Drummond:

TO DENVER:
SG Rodney Stuckey
C Greg Monroe

They trade two young pieces and a future pick to significantly upgrade their SG and C spots.

Lawson
Stuckey
Chandler
Faried / Hickson
Monroe

TO DETROIT:
SF Danilo Gallinari
SG Evan Fournier
*future pick*

We trade two guys that might be at their peaks as far as trade values are concerned for 3 nice pieces to our future.

Jennings
KCP / Fournier
Gallo

I like the deal as well but I'm sure Denver says no thanks. I'd love to get Faried and Fourier though. I'm not sure Denver would give up the pick.

Looks like the Heat are looking to trade for a Guard with Wade being limited. Can we get anything from that roster that would help in return for our "poor man's Wade"? The answer can't be LeBron.

No.

Save LeBron, Wade, and Bosh....the Heat have nothing else we'd want/need.

Josh Smith to Houston

Omer Asik to third team

Third Team trades true SF to Detroit

I'd trade Stuckey for Beasley, though Heat don't have capspace to do it.

Its a shame considering we could've had Beasley for free this summer.

Return to Detroit Pistons
