I could see the top 3 all being from the East if it's rigged.

1. Detroit
2/3. Philly/Milwaukee

I would enjoy that beary much.

I'm exactly of this mind as well. I'm also I think subconsciously disliking anybody we could possibly get with #8 so if we lose the pick I won't really care further either.

Given the total availability of information about how the lottery works and the level of discussion there has been about it on this forum, I'm really surprised we have so many people here who still don't understand how the lottery works.

Its been the same way for YEARS, too.

My instincts are to assume they're an idiot. But, then I give them the benefit of a doubt and assume they're either a young fan just getting more interested in the NBA, or a super casual trying to join in on the conversation.

But, to be fair, you can't completely rule out idiot.

OK.

Only the top 3 picks are determined by ping-pong lottery. All the rest of the picks revert to last season's record.

Thus, if we get a lucky ping-pong ball, we're picking 1, 2, or 3. If we don't, and no one else behind us gets picked either, we're 8th. If someone leapfrogs us, we're 9th and lose the pick to the Bobcats.

I usually default to a combination of idiot + lazy. New posters are always welcome and fresh point of views appreciated, but there's a certain level of base knowledge one should obtain before they expect people to care about their opinions.

We've been talking about potentially trading Monroe for a year and there's still regular posters who don't understand why we can't trade Monroe & the 8th pick to move up in the draft.

I'm thinking we'll end up with the 8th pick, and next year I won't mind losing the pick since I'll be hoping its around the 20s...

wishful thinking

Imagine if we only forfeit our pick to Charlotte once it's entirely unprotected, while winning two lotts in a row. That means

Mudiay
KCP
Wiggins
Monroe
Drummond

I had a dream that it happened last night. Kinda wished I lived in dream land permanently.

Pretty absolute declaration given there is a 25% chance we do not pick 8th come the lottery results.
