We got to draft front court help bpa, thats the way I see it. I think our 5 best guards not including Jennings are fine. I think R Jackson, KCP, and Dimmwiddie is the future 3 guard rotation. We got Drummond to go with them at this point in time but thats it. We have to snag a group that can grow with and around Drummond. I think a first rd pick or two would be good either way get a 3, and a 4. We also got to get some type of productive player in return for Monroe, hopefully in his first 3yrs in the league. The east is going to get tougher, Indiana should be back to form, Miami will most likely bounce back up a little more, Millwaukee will J Parker, New York is going to get better, Charlotte could get better, it could be very hard still with adding a 2nd tier free agent. So I say use one more season for developing the youth, get more, we either squeek in or get one more lottery pick. SVG is going to get the ship right, I can see it. It might be beneficial overall to not accelerate the pace for one more year if it's going to limit us in the next four, becuase thats really the time line I think. Four years to a top tier team(top 5) thats about as realisitic as it gets.

My choices.
1# Towns
2# Winlow
3# S Johnson
4# Kaminski
5# Portis

I would be happy to deal Jennings to recieve any two of the three, Resign Lucas, our backcourt production will suffer very little, and we would get back the piece we lost in last years draft.

Trade the #8 + 2017 top 5 protected + Cartier Martin + Reggie Jackson S/T for #4 and Carmelo

Sign Milsap, Brandon Wright, Wes Johnson

PIck up Butler/Tolliver's options

D'Angelo Russell/Mudiay --- Jennings - Dinwiddie
KCP / Meeks
Melo / Johnson - Butler
Milsap / Tolliver - Miller
Drummond / Wright

Melo comes to the team that should have drafted him in the first place

Playing along side Russell/Mudiay - KCP - Milsap - Drummond, under a coach that will get the most out of his talent, Melo's drive and career will be reinvigorated

you should take out Hezonja too then, the top7 is kind of clear at this point.
I voted for Oubre considering Hezonja wont be there.

I think he would be the most likely one to drop out of that top 7 of yours if one did, I would imagine it will go like this.

Wolves- KAT
Lakers- Okafor
Sixers- Russell
Knicks- Mudiay
Magic- Winslow
Kings- WCS
Denver- Hezonja
Detroit- Johnson/ Porzingis etc..

Basically if one of theses teams in the top7 take WCS or Turner then it will throw off your top 7 and teams reach for guys in the top 7 every year throwing off mocks.

Well, in my world if anyteam in the top7 draft WCS it will be a monumental blunder for them, so I operated under the assumption that NBA FOs are a bit smarter than that.
If that is the case, the best option at 8th is Kelly Oubre.

Oubre sucks and I don't really see much justification for taking him over Johnson. He has no type of drive to be the man on either side of the ball and he looks like Austin Daye out there.

I really like Trey Lyles. I know most question his defense, but he was forced to guard much smaller/quicker players in college. He has good size and good footwork; I think with some coaching he can be a solid team defender. At worst he will be a quality 3rd big off the bench IMO.

Oubre is the definition of a project, and I think limiting our team to only one player who can only finish with his left hand is a good idea.

He seems like a passionless clumsy mess out on the floor. I will take a much lesser talented player, with a ton of passion over a player who just goes thru the motions, no matter how talented.

Nothing worse.

The WCS comment is interesting as he's such a versatile defender. Has this lost so much value? Trey Lyles might well move up. There's the RealGM new item about just how "enamored" the Knicks are with him. Almost always surprises on draft night.

The Knicks are interested in a scorer that doesn't play defense you say? Well I'm certainly surprised

why wouldn't Hezonja be there? he shows a ton of promise, but he's not by far better than other players. Fact if anything, he's a bigger risk coming out of international style play. He's not clearly on a different tier

That's because you value offense too highly. Basketball is played on both ends, and if WCS can come close to his ceiling he'll be absolutely dominant on the defensive end. Your barking up the wrong tree if your trying to preach defense is not important to this board. Orlando and SAC both are looking for complementary players. Vuec can play inside and out, and WCS is a perfect compliment, Cousins is essentially the same.

Oubre is too much of a project at #8, not only that, he seems to have "motor" issues. His upside and physical attributes dictate a possible top 10 selection, however in comparison to other prospects, he most definitely slides out.

Trey lyes is offensive skilled big man, he'd be perfect for teh triangle. If they do trade down, i hope its not for a team trading up for winslow

Carmello
Amare
Talk about Monroe
Now talk about Lyles

No defense in any of these guys, screw the triangle

Its just melo

Amare's gone
If moose signs there then lyles is redundant

Also yes screw the triangle, however i think the Knicks are committed to it.

The Knicks wanting Lyles seems kind of sketchy to me. He's a power forward in the NBA and that's where Carmelo spends most of his time these days. He can't keep up with wings on the perimeter anymore. I would bet that's more of a smokescreen than anything.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks took Winslow at #4 for themselves.

Melo & Winslow at forward isn't out of the question IMO

I still think they trade the pick for more immediate help, I just can't imagine them being patient with a rookie right now.

In the triangle, they need a skilled big man. Mudiay isn't a pg that is ideal for the Triangle, i wouldn't be suprised to see Turner, Porz, or even kamisky taken here. Knicks want a big man badly
