Pretty sure Dlo will want to start and be traded from GS soon too when hes eligible for trade so we can always wait for that with him being younger and locked up.

I can believe there are folks here who want to pay a 34 year old guard who relies on his athleticism 43 million in 2023...

Unless they want Blake, Detroit has nothing of interest for GSW.

We can't include Snell in a package until December right?

I thought that was only for signed players. We traded for Snell so I think we trade him whenever. Not sure though.

Not in a package I believe. And this would be a package.

Jackson, Galloway, Kennard and Maker works though salary wise. Issue becomes OKC taking on four players for one, meaning they need to cut three of theirs.

So give them Blake, that actually makes sense and would be a straight swap with us losing no future assets

You can't trade them right away, but I think the downtime isn't as long for traded players as for signed ones. Isn't it 60 days? He could in theory be traded before the season. Lets pray it isn't in a deal like this though.

we're not rebuilding so why not roll the dice and see what westbrook does in the east with dre and blake though i wouldnt give up sekou and kinda dont wanna give up kennard either i'd offer reggie, maker, galloway and picks for russell if okc says no then its whatever.

We are not one player away from relevance.

I am not sure if I like this. I don't think we have the salaries to match anyways, so don't think we can make a realistic offer, and I don't think Westbrook is worth a lot. Expirings + a pick or 2 should get it done.

Reggie would probably need to be routed elsewhere, doubt they want him back and doubt he wants to go back either.

Flip him to Minny and we get RoCo? Salaries probably be a little off but Minny been desperate for a new look at PG...Teague ass stay hurt too much...

Reggie would be part of Westbrook trade. If he's rerouted, the player he's traded for is going to OKC. To Minny for Teague would be to send Teague to OKC.

Westbrook cares too much about his stats and his attitude sucks. I also think you need to play him mostly with four shooters. Having Dre and Westbrook fighting each other for rebounds isn't going to work for us.

That said, I'd trade Dre and Reggie for Westbrook straight up no picks exchanged. Would need another move for a five.

In many ways, Westbrook is the pg version of Dre... low IQ steals rebounds from teammates and impact on winning is questionable.

The last year of Westbrook, even if he waives his TB, is a killer and likely a deal breaker. Or at least mitigates OKC's asking price. If he doesn't waive his TB it's $47M - no bloody way. If he waives it it's 43M. I mean it's only $4M but $47M mentally rounds up to "$50M".

Kennard and two FRP's would be the assets, with Jackson, Galloway and Thon as the salary ballasts.

Don't know if GSW would be willing to add that much tax to their bill

No interest in Westbrick. Hes coming off his worst season since his 2nd year in the league. He relies completely on being the best athlete on the court and thats fading fast.

If we traded multiple 1st round picks + Kennard or Sekou we would basically be trading 3 1st rounders for him. We wont be on the level of the sixers or bucks so we would be playing for a 2nd round playoff series not for a title. We just seen him in the West playing with PG13 and the thunder got smashed 4-1 by a blazers team in the first round.

Not to mention that 2nd 1st round pick could be a really high lottery pick with a washed up Russ and old Blake.

Trading Dre in the package for Westbrook would defeat the whole purpose. We need to pair Westbrook with Griffin and Drummond and put competent role players around them.

I want to believe you wanted to type "can't" here :)

The John Wall thread. The Andrew Wiggins thread. The Carmelo Anthony thread.

The desire to completely wreck your franchise's prospects for years to come in exchange for immediate gain that falls short of anything worthwhile is strong here.

Food for thought: Can you imagine the scenario where Golden State didn't have 2 of its superstars break themselves and they won again in the finals? Very, very plausible. And Toronto would have *nothing* due to Kawhi bolting. Just like all the sane people predicted.
Watch Toronto this year and imagine that being what happened....
