I’ve mentioned him before in another thread. He’s going to be a stud.

I really like Jalen Green, but 2 things make me dubitative:
1. He doesn't have elite wingspan at 6'7.5. Majority of all-time great SG's had great wingspan (6-10 for Harden, 6-11 for both MJ and Kobe, 7-0 for Wade). That can limit him.
2. His shot release is quite low, not as low as Stanley Johnson's, but it needs work. His lack of wingspan will not help him there.

Should have say "skeptical" maybe?

He has Ben McLemore's wingspan and I was really high on that guy too back when he was in college. Hope Green will not have the same career...

Apparently he may have just ruptured his achilles

Hope not. Awful if so. Poor kid.

Looks like he's okay? He returned to the game anyway.

One of those injuries that looks a lot worse than it was I guess.

Yeah I get the same feel from Jalen Green as well. Unless he shows some real defense and passing skills he might be a “Microwave” type scorer off the bench - not sure he’s the next Kobe. But he’ll have plenty of time to show what he’s made of.

He definitely has the footwork and athleticism to be great. We gotta see what else he’s got.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

Watching USC Mobley against Uconn.

Mobley doesnt look special in any way. Uconn has a lot of bigs that he seems afraid of.

From what I've seen he needs to get bigger and stronger. Slight frame but then again we could team him with Stewart up front

Stewart - Mobley
Sekou - Mobley - Bey
Grant - Bey
Jackson - Svi
Hayes - Wright

I was doing some work on the computer and had the game on in the background.

Mobley went 4 for 9, to 17 points. USC lost by a few.

Mobley turned down completely open 3pointers late in the game that probably would have led to a USC win. He lacks confidence. Doesnt do anything really well on either side of the ball. He does block shots, but I didnt see any elite athleticism where he went up and blocked a shot that would be put up by NBA guys. I saw him block the shot of some shorter Big/tweener that would never make it the NBA. So he can block shots of tweener guys too short, slow, overweight to make NBA and wont shoot even when open to help his team win games.

Id pick up in the Bey territory. Late teens, if he dropped and could trade some second round picks to get him.

He reminds me of Austin Daye type guy, or Bol Bol but not nearly as tall.

Could be Im a bad talent evaluator too, thats likely. But I dont see anything that he does elite and his skills dont seem to translate. He cant dribble well enough, would get stolen all the time. Afraid to shoot even when open in big games. He does pass alright, but nothing special.

Think the guys in the Draft forum wouldn't be impressed with your evaluation

Keep an eye on Moses Moody... looks like the real deal, becoming pretty consistent.

I'm starting to dream of a Hayes/Cunningham backcourt.

Tennessee finally playing at 6 so we'll get to see two more possible top 10 picks in Keon Johnson and Jaden Springer for the first time.

And Duke is on ESPN at 9:30 to get another look at Jalen Johnson

He looks so good already. Jump shot, post moves, drives, pump fakes, he's already got all that in his game. Don't know much about his man to man defense thought. It seems OSU is playing him at 1-2-3-4 positions.
