It also seems way, way harder for Stewart to establish good post position down low. And then players STILL try to make difficult passes to him when he hasn't gained it.

It's like the players just decide what they are going to do ahead of time instead of reading what the defense is giving them...

First time Monty hasn't played anyone who doesn't belong on the court. And a challenge! I can't stand going a game not using one. Even if its in the 1st quarter. You don't want a started to pick up 2 fouls, and never get into a rhythm, and like tonight, we retain our challenge.

You can chalk alot of that up to experience, I mean what is the average age of our starting 5, 21? Young kids make mistakes, but they seem to be making better decisions as the games go on. I am super excited about this core. We need to get another 4/5 who can either stretch the floor and protect the paint (Sarr?/Murphy? Isaac?) and another ball handler/playmaker at the wing and I think this team will be in really great shape going forward.

I wish I had your optimism but I just don't see it. Cade is good but he's a notch below the other young stars in his age group and besides that I don't know how good anybody is. Duren and Ausar have potential to be good players but are a ways from being that, Ivey is a giant mess of inconsistency and Sasser could be a nice piece off the bench. This team/core is far away from being merely NBA average. Maybe they take an unexpected leap next season but I'm not seeing it based on what we're seeing. These games against the Cavs and Magic were a harsh slap back to reality.

The sad thing is that this Orlando team is on the same timeline in terms of age of the core and they're light years ahead.
