Speaking of the draft... I get the feeling it's going to be a boring night for the Pistons.

You're probably right about the draft. though I'm still hoping Trajan can maneuver to swing a late first round pick --- targeting someone who can contribute this next season (either in a back up role as a PF or SF).

I'm glad draft night is going to be a boring night for us. Much of the last 16-17 years watching this team was a slog with nothing exciting other than hope for a lotto pick to pan out. Now we have a real core to work with.

Not even sure I'm bothering to watch it this year.

just based on the guys they've brought in for workouts all being projected second round/undrafted guys i think it's much more likely we either pick at 37 or trade it and get some of the undrafted guys as 2-way players. that could be a wrong assumption, because we didn't bring ron holland in for a workout and we picked him 5th overall.

here's a list of the guys they've brought in so far: https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nba/pistons/2025/06/13/pistons-nba-draft-workouts-list-players/84186631007/

based on that list they're not favouring any position and every one has been a senior except jacksen moni, who was a really productive freshman.

FRP's have slotted money against the cap right? SRP's don't and can sign 2 way deals. Late first less valuable than early second.

Get a decent center in the 2nd round. Someone that can get rebounds, switch on the perimeter and block shots. We can worry about the scoring later.

When Stew got injured at the end of the season/playoffs, we got exposed on defense in the worst way

Alright just for fun let’s say Ivey wanted way too much money. Langdon moves him for Brooklyns top two picks in this draft, and two second round picks in the next four years. We draft Egor Demin to be the future backup to Cade, who has the same size and passing, and defense for the position in theory. Than Cade could be used more off ball and we stay really Big. Then we resign Schroeder and Hardaway to run that group back.
With the late 1st we get our stretch 4, I would be hoping Rasheed Fleming. Now we got our potential future 4. Draft Thoro in the second rd. Trade Sasser and Tech for Kelly O

Cunningham/schroeder/Demin
Ausar/Beasly/waters
Hardaway/Holland/Thoro
Harris/Flemming/Klitman
Duran/Stew/Olynik

A little run it back, and little bit of building for the future.
