Actually, Denver can wait until this summer and facilitate a sign-trade and still get something back. But i think they get a much better deal if they do something now.

If they did that, I bet they get what Cleveland and Toronto got for their stars... Not much.

It may be time to step back and not put any hope on this deal... I can think of at least four quotes from Melo that indicate he's not on board with the Nets.
Denver is headin' for a train wreck without this deal.

Sadly i think you're right.

F*** Denver. I hope Melo just leaves without even doing a sign and trade.
They were offered such a good deal and now I hope they don't get s***.

I cannot even express how stupid the Denver front office would have to be to not take the package being offered.

I still have no clue why Melo would sign in NJ or why NJ would do this trade if he didn't. Seems like nothing more than a bunch of posturing to me. :dontknow:

More money if he signs the extension and doesn't wait for free agency. He wants to go to NY, but Denver hasn't expressed any interest in the Knick's assets, NJ might be as close as he can get.

Botched handoff, QB sacked at the 25 yard line...

Fanhouse... "After Sunday's loss, Denver's third in a row, Anthony said he didn't expect a trade this week. He said Monday he still believes that. "That's just my feeling,'' Anthony said. "I don't think so. I don't want to elaborate on that anymore. That's just my own personal feeling.'
"I'm waiting to see Masai (Ujiri, Denver's vice president of basketball operations) and Josh (Kroenke, the team president), wherever they're at,'' Anthony said after practice Monday about the two Denver executives who were not at Sunday's 96-87 home loss to New Orleans. "I'm pretty sure they're working on whatever they're working on right now. ... I'm just patiently waiting until they get back so I have a sitdown with them.''

15 yard penalty. The ball will be spotted at the 40 yard line. Replay 3rd down.

:nonono:

I was sooo friggin exciting this morning. I thought this bloody trade was going to happen today, but Denver is killing me.

On another note - We all seem to get on Dumars for his horrible moves, but it just goes to show that he isn't the worst GM going around. If Denver turns down that package for Melo and they let him walk for nothing, that FO will go straight to the top of most stupid FO list.
However Dumars worked out a deal for Rip (supposedly untradable) for a useful expiring.
Not so bad....

I think only reason for him to sign extension with NJ is if he is only about the money.

IF he wants to win then no point going to NJ to play with old farts and a no D frontline for a couple years and then no picks to help to boot. IF he wants to win and isn't all about the money then wait til FA and sign in NY and screw Denver.

Denver's GM could be dragging things just to try and guarantee that NJs 1st will be higher in the draft by letting them lose til Trade deadline. There are other possibilities as well for things dragging out.

No matter, I am not holding my breath. If I did that I would have turned blue 4 years ago lol.

No reason we can't trade RIP to NY for Eddy Curry.
