Hayes bey at 16 and Xavier at 19 would be better.

Mark my words. Tillman will be one of the steals of this draft

Xavier has peaked. I don't think he's going to be good at all in the pros.

And let's not forget, this is the first draft in maybe a decade since we had multiple 1sts and basically cleaned house in favor of a somewhat rebuild

This is definitely a swing in the long term

I’ll be surprised if Hayes and Bey don’t succeed. If Weaver is right on Stewart, he totally killed it.

Woke up today hoping for a decent Draft pick at 7.

Really happy with the moves thus far...

Is Weaver done? Who knows?

i know almost nothing about isaiah stewart but for those calling him undersized, he's 6'9 250 with a 7'4 wingspan so he has enough bulk and length to match up with most centers in the league.

By the way, this is what Coach Casey is actually good at.. molding young players. He may not want to be here for an ugly rebuild, but he’s good at it.

A full rebuild. Finally. So happy.

That Stewart @ #16 is such a stunning (not in a good way) move.

Otherwise, this has been a very good draft for the Pistons.

Gave up 7M in cap space, locked ourselves from trading our pick for the next 4 years, and gave up a future 1st so we could draft Stewart

What exactly did the Pistons do to get cursed like this?

Why would the protected draft pick be a thing we would worry about? We are rebuilding, so it's not like we would make a deal with our draft pick in the middle of a season.

Hayes, Bey and Stewart. Much more of a surprise than I expected and I'm good with it.

Not “compete for the 8th seed” for no reason suck. Full suck, the right way.

And what if we took Pok @ #16 and Bey @ #19? I think you are missing the reason as to why most of us are pissed, we don't like Stewart the player and there was so many higher upside players to take which is what we NEED while we rebuild.

Really impressed with what Troy Weaver did today.
I am not sure what to make of the Stewart pick at this point, though. Is he some sort of a hidden gem type prospect?

It's an asset and the trade prevents us from moving our 1st round pick for the next four years

Let's say we dont make a trade - couldn't Weaver have gotten more creative - took some bad contracts on to get a young player?

Rose/Sekou/Snell/Kennard/the 7M given up in the trade all could have been used in other trades or one big trade for a rotation player on a bad deal

That being said if he is making these types of moves then Snell/Rose/Blake all need to be traded ASAP

LOL, as true as this is, its finally looking like we are embracing the youth movement. We could have traded kennard and a pick for Westbrook..

This night has gone better then I ever expected. I mean I'm good if this is it, but can you imagine of Rose and or Blake also get flushed?

Context matters here too -- next year is supposed to be the most talented class in recent memory. So trading up in 2021 will be much harder.

If you have players you like and the price is right this year, grab young talent and go all in on getting the best draft position possible in 2021. If you hit paydirt and wind up with a future superstar, you've got young, cheap, tradeable pieces to surround them with -- a good foundation for a rebuilding mid-market team, and the bait you might need to bring in additional superstars when it's time to contend.

Holding onto players like Brown and Kennard doesn't get you closer to that.
