Melo (and his wife) want to be in one of the premier markets. He will either be a Knick or Laker.

I'd like that trade for us but don't see it happening. Hou is more likely to sign someone that can stretch the floor ie Chris Bosh.

It's easier to rotate guards than it is bigs.

These will both happen. Guaransheed.

Bynum, Mitchell, Harrelson
for
Lin and rights to Capela

Why? just to get better
Why? save about $4m in cap and over $10m in money

Smoove
for
JT

Why? balance and money
Why? because Smoove is so awesome and we are so nice to Sacramento

sign Hinrich

Why? because

Lin, Jennings, Siva
Meeks, Hinrich, Dinwiddie
KCP, Singler, Martin
Monroe, Jerebko, Datome
Drummond, JT, Capela

But, hey, we can agree that sometimes teams luck out, right? This is just 2 trades and 1 signing.
3 luck outs aint so unlikely, is it?

Get back to us when you can understand what Sac's cap situation is before "guaransheeding" trades that are impossible.

This is the perfect way to end the offseason

1) Trade Josh Smith to Sacramento for Isaiah Thomas & Derrick Williams
We get our coveted PG and Kings get a defender to pair with Cousins

2) Trade Will Bynum to Dallas for a TPE/2nd
We clear capspace and Dallas gets a much needed backup PG

3) Sign Trevor Ariza to a 3/27 deal

2014-2015 Detroit Pistons
Isaiah Thomas/Brandon Jennings/Spencer Dinwiddie
KCP/Jodie Meeks/Cartier Martin
Trevor Ariza/Kyle Singler/Derrick Williams/Gigi Datome
Greg Monroe/Jonas Jerebko/Tony Mitchell
Andre Drummond/Greg Monroe/Josh Harrelson

Where does Detroit get the cap space to sign Ariza to that deal? Additionally, why does Ariza choose Detroit over returning to the Wizards for the same or better contract?

I'm thumbs up on the first two portions though.

By cutting Siva and trading Bynum for a TPE, we gain an additional 3 mil in capspace, which leaves us with around 9 million to work with to give to Ariza. Additionally, Wizards have Webster/Porter and are over the cap so I don't think they will be willing to invest that much money in Ariza.

If we can't get Ariza then I wouldn't mind PJ Tucker for a cheap 3/10 deal or something like that. PJ Tucker is a very good 3 and D guy, I think he's an upgrade over Singler as he's a much better shooter and defender.

What if we just did the Bynum deal and then went after Deng with a deal starting at around $10 million?

Jennings / Siva / Dinwiddie
KCP / Meeks / Martin
DENG / Singler
Monroe / Smith / Jerebko
Drummond / Monroe / Harrellson

I say we just scrap the Ariza plan and just do Tucker anyway if all it would take is 3 for 10.

They will also send Derrick Williams (and more if necessary) and 2nd's to Philly for Doritos.

You clearly do not understand how Guaransheeds work.
That's okay. It's normal. Guaransheeds are for the few.

I'm betting that;
1-Josh Smith gets traded to Sacramento at some point this offseason.
2- the Magic will continue to make odd moves.
3- Charlie Villanueva will get at least a small 1 year deal from an NBA team.

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 46s

Addendum to earlier Pistons intel: they're not eager to part ways with Josh Smith as has been indicated. Value him and not eager to dump.
Details

I assume this is linked to Sam's earlier tweet about Isaiah Thomas not coming to Detroit. If Stan truly feels this way about Josh, one has to assume they've had their sit down powwow and Josh convinced Stan that he's cool with coming off the bench. OR Devaney was right all along and Moose is the one Stan will look to move.

...Or not.

Sam then follows up with this -

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 2m

Pistons surely getting low-balled by teams who see it as a someone's-gotta-go scenario w/ Smith, Andre Drummond & restricted FA Greg Monroe.

All he's saying is detroit values smith and doesn't see a need to dump him, however Teams are still coming with low ball offers as they see the situation differently. This is comforting as at least we know there is interest for Smith. at what price is the question

The fact that Kings inquired about him early on indicates he is in fact wanted for some rebuild teams.

The question is, who and what can we get out of them. It would surely be a miracle if one team offered a future pick or at least a SF or something.

Judging by how SVG has played this offseason so far, its going to take equal or greater talent for us to part ways with smith. I think their are teams that will be willing.
