Rockets trying to clear open some cap space - Terrence Jones could be dealt it sounds like for cap room - We better be interested.

I always get confused when talking about moving around in the draft - if a team is looking to move down are they looking to move to a better pick or a worse pick. Move down from six to nine or move down from six to three? Same with "moving up"...

Woj is saying Sacto is looking to move back in the top 10 - if so, we should look to leapfrog Denver here (and Sacto for that matter as both could be sniping our dudes). I assume it would only cost taking on a salary/contract. I'd do that to move up to #6 as it opens up a whole lotta better doors for us.

Move down = later draft pick.
Move up = earlier draft pick.

If the Wiretap is true and the Knicks are 'very likely' to sign West, then where does Monroe go? The Knicks will have both Porzingis and West along with whatever other crap they had in the frontcourt. Signing both West and Monroe seems unlikely.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

West probably signs a 2 year deal since Porzingis is at least a year or two away. That being said, Moose, West and Carmelo defending the p&r is laughable at best, they will score though.

Shouldn't change much, Greg is a Center, West and Porz are PF

Yeah, I actually think Monroe fits pretty well in that scenario. Knicks are probably the front runners for him, but other teams will be in the mix too. The Lakers are suddenly a possibility again now that Okafor is not in that picture.

Sixers are so crappy.

They already have Embiid and Noel. Adding Okafor? OK, I get that....

But they go on to draft two MORE C's and 2 MORE PF's. lol They deserve to be terrible, like, forever!

I'm curious if Monroe is just going to take the biggest offer, or consider the situation as well? I could see him going to LA to play with Kobe and Russell. But, LA won't go after him until Love and Aldridge are off the board.

Boston probably does provide him the best opportunity to make the playoffs next year though.

I don't think Monroe is a LA or NYC kind of dude. I think he'd be a much better personality fit in Portland or Boston - I see these two teams making Monroe their primary target, while LAL and NYK woo LMA, Gasol, Love types.

Portland seems like a great fit for Moose.

Does Boston have enough cap to sign both Monroe and Harris?

If not, I'm definitely rooting for them to land Monroe. Its not about caring where he ends up, its about what serves our interests best.

I think Boston has very close to $30M but only 9 players signed to that 37M. So with cap holds and the like I think they'd be just under being able to max out both.

I think the best plan of attack is a S&T with Orlando to get Harris. If they're on the fence about matching, given them a little something to help them decide to let him go. Lotto protected first (ie top 14) is a good deal for us still IMO because we only lose the pick if we make the play-offs. Say Harris was signed long term and Orlando asked for a 16th overall pick for him - would we do it? What pick did Tim Hardaway Jr get moved for this recent draft?

Can't wait to see Monroe vs Drummond next year, as soon as Moose signs I will be marking my calendar.

And gores can buy a pick in that range.

If we are offering the same amount as Boston , I have a hard time believing Harris wants to play for Boston over us. Our system is much more Taylor'd to his playing style. Yes I am bias d but Boston doesn't have a clear direction . Just a lot of good pieces

Players don't always think like that, though.

Boston is a pretty cool city with a killer legacy. If anything Tobias would prefer that to be closer to NYC.

Yeah, I think its inaccurate to call Boston a similar market to Detroit even if the cities are comparable in size.
