I friggin love Scottie Barnes, but not as a top five pick. We'd have to do some Weaver-style finagling to get in position to draft him.

I brought him up as a possibility if the Pistons fall out of the top 5. But I don’t see him going much later than that.

Bit of a Barnes fan over here. Kinda like Okoro where he can play most positions and his floor looks good enough.

That said I'm hoping for a potential franchise changing star out of the 2021 Draft - Barnes is unlikely to be that due to the weaknesses on the offensive end

And it was. Cade had a tougher go this time but it was clear Oklahoma was operating in "We're not gonna let this guy beat us" mode.

He's still my choice. He averages 4.0 TO's a game but if you watch the games that looks like more a function of trying to be too cute with some passes, i.e. trying to make the highlight reel with a pass, rather than being a bad passer, poor ball-handler, etc. Point being, that's just a coaching up/decision making thing and not an ability thing.

Really liking Julian Champagnie in the second round.

Also, can anyone explain to me why Scottie Pippen Jr isn't an NBA prospect?

Who's the best SG prospect out of Moody, Springer and Bouknight? Bouknight is constantly producing 20ppg

I'd say Moody is the best overall of those guys and in fact, he's starting to emerge as a clear #6 for me especially taking Pistons needs into account. He's the best pure shooter and best defender of that group. He's not as athletic as Bouknight and Springer and doesn't create his own shot like Bouknight does but I just love the way he plays, just has a great feel for the game. I think he's a great fit with a pass first PG like Hayes.

I know everybody is fixated on the top 5 and rightfully so but 6-10 is pretty solid too.
Kai Jones is another name I'd like to throw in there. Tons of upside with this player and he's just beginning to scratch the surface offensively.
I could see Weaver really taking to Scottie Barnes. He has the length and versatility that Weaver covets.

What's your opinion of the 2nd tier guys?

My top 3 are Cade/Evan/Kuminga

I have Springer in the 2nd tier with Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs

Moses Moody/Franz Wagner/ and Zaire Williams are in my 3rd tier. If possible I would trade back for 2 of this group over 1 of my 2nd tier guys.

Outside the top 9 I’m really not concerned unless Troy Weaver happens to get extra picks.

2nd round I’m looking at Kessler Edwards/Charles Bassey/Santi Aldama
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

People are taking Kuminga over Green because he’s more filled out right now. Wiseman and Edwards were more filled out than Lamelo, and how are thing’s going now?

I had Lamelo as the best pick last year because of overall skill, talent, and size for position. Muscles development had nothing to do with it.

I think Green is establishing that he is better than Kuminga overall, although both seem to be top of the draft talents.

My board right now:

1) Cade
2) Mobely
3) Green
4) Suggs
5) Kuminga

2nd round, I’m sticking with the G-League Ignite and looking at PF Isaiah Todd.

I'm literally going to print this out and show it to my son because he likes to score more than anything else but I need him to know how important the rest of the game is. I'll put it here first.

Out of the Top5 would be a drama.

Pretty spot in about how I feel about those guys. The guy I really like is Springer as well. Can get to the rim and score from anywhere while also being a better playmaker then Moody and Bouknight.

Also really like Wagner as he's just a well rounded player like a Tayshaun Prince or something.

Barnes I'm coming around on because he is quite impactful with his defense and playmaking giving him some comps to a Draymond Green type. His offense is a mess though.

Jalen Johnson I want no part of

Cade
Mobley
Green
Suggs
Kuminga
Moody
Springer
Barnes
Bouknight
Wagner

That's my top 10 now

I agree with this top 10. Kuminga looked the worse of the top 5 to me. He missed a lot of easy shot’s inside in the g league.

1. Cade
2. Green
3. Suggs

Mostly from watching youtube clips, hopefully will get to see more actual games from these guys soon. Lots of people talking like Cade is the clear cut #1 but Green to me just looks like such a natural scorer, shooter, and athlete.
Sleeper pick is Bouknight. I feel like he is really good to go day one and a "safe" pick, but his stock can't rise to top 5 because he's too old as a second year college player. It's almost what happened with Haliburton last year being a "safe" pick and NBA ready, but people feeling like his upside wasn't as high.... NBA loves those Freshman players its almost exclusively Freshman in the top 7 or 8 picks lately.

I thought Kuminga was the youngest of all prospects in this draft. Isn’t he supposed to be a HS Senior right now?
