The Thunder play the Kings 3 times. No way they lose them all, right?

Crazy that our first 7 wins of the season were against playoff teams. If we would have lost just 2 of those we’d be in a battle for 1st.

Orlando scares me and OKC doesn’t have a winnable game on their schedule.

Magic hosts Rockets tonight, we need them to win it so they'll have 2 more wins than us.

Every team that reaching 23 wins should be considered out of reach for us. Kings, Cavs, Thunder, Magic are currently the only ones who can finish below us.
1. Kings will play Wolves twice and the Thunder 3 times. They will win at least one of these. Consider them out of reach too.
2. Cavs will play us once and Magic once, all their other remaining games will be against teams above them in the standings.
3. Thunder will play Kings 3 times.
4. Magic will play Rockets, Cavs and us. They can lose out the others.

I agree 23 wins puts a team out of our likely possible highest win # which I still think is 22.

17-40 with 15 games left for us.

We most likely will finish 4-11 down the stretch to end up 21-51
5-10 is also possible which puts us at 22-50
6-9 would be way over performing and just isn't likely at this point, but it be string off a few wins I'll consider it possible.

3-12 also isn't out of the question, which would put us at 20-52 but I think its more likely we get 4 wins down the stretch.

Sacramento winning one more game this season is going to happen which makes them finish with 23+ wins as well. It really is just Cleveland, OKC, and Orlando we need to be hoping get some Ws.

As far as I'm concerned we all need to say our collective prayers and make Orlando win games. They have 18wins. We have 17. They're #4 right now. We're #3. We need need need to stay at #3.
If it makes anyone feel good, my daughter found two 4leaf clovers this past week! So I have been rubbing them nightly and praying for us all. You're welcome

You could argue (and I would) that we were also worse than we should have been vs bad teams early in the season too.

In fact, when looking at it in terms of our teams’ defensive and offensive ratings, or simply looking at our overall +/-, we should, based on overall quality of play, be the 8th worst team.

It’s easy to look at a few games and say we should have lost, but in the aggregate statistically speaking they’re outnumbered by the games we should have won but didn’t.

I still stand behind my thinking a few weeks ago that we finish with a worse record than Minnesota.

They've performed at a pretty similar level to us since Towns came back, have 2 fewer wins than us, and a harder schedule to close it out.

So I'm not sure what the basis for this optimism is.

2 interesting games to follow tonight: Rockets at Magic and Thunder at Raptors (probably without Siakam, Anunoby and Trent). Go Magic and go Thunder!

Wolves can win something like 5 games to finish the season for a total of 20 wins, so that can be very close to Pistons who most of us project to 21 or 22 wins.

I'm not saying it's impossible.

I'm just saying it's not something I would bet on.

MF what's the basis of ANY optimism? It's all a hunch when it comes down to it. I know you you much prefer the approach that lends away from something happening in the team's favor, but everybody's not like that.

Minnesota has barely been fully healthy all season. Hard schedule or not, they've played very well against really good teams since they've gotten healthy and just haven't been able to close out close games. I'm not sure they'll be actively sitting guys the way we have, since guys are just getting back from injury and might want the reps to gain chemistry.

At the end of the day, I've been saying it for a while and I'm just not flip flopping, that's all.

Rockets up on the Raptors at the half and the Thunder are up on the Magic at the half. Either way two teams are either getting closer to the Pistons or further away.

I have my eye on both the Raptors and the Hornets. The Raptors are clearly a lottery team and the Hornets have been slipping. Those 2nds just keep getting better. But hey, Weaver's an idiot for not getting the Knicks' 2nd in the Rose trade.

A Magic and OKC win would be nice and they are both up at the moment

If Orlando can't beat Houston (not looking good at the moment) and OKC can't beat Toronto without all their best players, it's hopeless.
A Pistons win against the Cavs tomorrow night would put the Cavs back in play too.
