This is not a good hire IMO and SVG proved how out of touch he is with the current NBA when he wouldn't play the young players he SELECTED to be on his team.

Eh SVG gave long leashes to reggie I can't see him being really strict with guys who will be the motor of the offense.

We will see. I think your comment will apply to lonzo/jrue more than ingram.

Woods, Sekou, trade for Matisse Thybulle, our pick Devin Vassell, ....which PG would fit with this lineup the best?

Lamelo? Tyrell Terry? name the others. I would so love to see long defensive matisse and devin together. trade rumors on how that would happen. Which pg would fit with that the best ?

There are multiple trade idea floats with philly, lakers, bucks, etc.

Rose, Blake, and quite possible Luke and snell. All out in different variations. So much deception this close to the draft. It will be interesting to see what our new leader does. I was a big fan of Matisse last year. Big fan of Vassell as well. I'm teetering on my thoughts on Tyrell. Cassius winston reminds me of paul pierce, although short and a pg. Can't wait to see what next years team looks like.

That pick is going the wrong way, my friend.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Luke is less valuable than Thybulle? I thought Philly would value the shooter more.

I wouldn't attach a pick with Luke to land Bull.

Main reason being contract - Thybulle has three more cheap seasons. Luke is probably close to his ceiling and is injury prone. I just don't think the Sixers would do a swap, let alone throw a pick.

Maybe they give us a couple of picks in this Draft for Luke?

They get a look at him on their roster and keep their defender.

If the cap goes down that means the price goes up for taking on bad deals.

Maybe even get Wood in around that 9 mill mark.

This could be the best year ever to have cap space.

If the league allows the cap to drop to where its supposed to, you're looking at about a $99 million salary cap and a luxury tax of about $122 million.

This means there will be almost no teams with cap space to absorb contracts, and a several teams likely desperate to dump salary to get out of the luxury tax level.

The downside for us, it makes the Snell trade look much worse because that cap space could have probably been used to aqquire multiple better first rounders.

I could see us getting a pick from Orlando, Indiana, Boston, or Philly

Philly could use Luke
Orlando (maybe) could use Snell
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

How much capspace would we have if it drops that much?

Current reports now are that the league won't use projected BRI to determine the cap, but will instead keep it right where it was last year at $109 million. Its still a great year to have cap space and their will be teams looking to get out from under the luxury tax level.

We should really wait and see if Kennard takes another step this year. Forgot he did this but dropped 30 last year in the season opener. I just think he has more potential then anyone in the draft range that would be trading for him.

Hawks shopping pick #6!
Trying to make the playoffs. Looking for another playmaker!

Give em Blake! They'll make the playoffs for sure!
If they won't take Blake, givem D Rose.
If they won't take DRose, Givem Luke!

Draft 2 of Okoro/Hayes/Vassell with 6 and 7!
Let's go Weaver!
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

We needed Kennard to show the improvement last year, not this upcoming year. Now its a contract year. If he explodes, is it real? Can he stay healthy?

The whole point of young talent is that they play well for a couple years cheap. If they get good right when you have to pay them big money, why not just look for free agents?

I have zero faith right now that Kennard could play two full seasons without missing extended time. Im not talking about a game here or there from something. He is guarasheed to miss a month next season.

Plus, 30 points was one game. Brandon Jennings also got ultra hot and scored a bunch. Turns out shooters can shoot, sometimes. Once people started to push Kennard more and not let run around completely open his scoring went down. With all the bumping and physical defense he got hurt again.

Let the Hawks, Lakers, Rockets, take him for a pick and younger talent that has 3 more years cheap. That is the Pistons timeline.

We'll see, he was only a 3rd year player last season and showed some good potential. If he looks healthy then there's no reason to be trying to just dump him like you make it sound.

I mean sure hes not gonna be a star or anything but I'm in no rush to try and move him unless someone wants to overpay with a good enough pick.

Return to Detroit Pistons
