I want to know where you guys are getting your numbers for Brunson when guarded by Ausar. I'm seeing a 34% fg% when Ausar is on the floor. Overall Brunson's FG% for playoffs was 43.6%

Is it just that the numbers I am seeing are incorrect?

Individual matchup data is at https://www.nba.com/stats/player/1628973/head-to-head?Matchup=Offense.

What data are you using?

I was much more lazy / less informed. I just did a search and it was the first thing that popped up. I'll try to be better on this in the future and thanks for the link.

It certainly FELT like Ausar was doing better than those numbers show. But I can't really argue with that.

Happy to help! If you'd ever like help locating something on NBA.com's stats section, let me know. There's a ton of data there, but the system is complex, and navigating it takes some time to learn.

I think he's very likely get better as he accrues more experience. His complete inexperience at playing postseason defense showed, and having more experience with that will help for next time. High-IQ defenders like him also often learn over time how best to guard any given player.

Ausar will definitely also need to learn how to harass foul-baiting players without getting whistled. Schroder was a lot more able to dog Brunson without fouling him, and experience certainly played the largest role in his ability to better do so. I think that'll be just a matter of time and learning for Ausar.
