AI should be coming off the bench because it makes sense. He needs the ball in his hands at all times. If he is surrounded by 4 other 'scrubs', he can do a lot of damage against other second units. Rip relies on a point guard getting him the ball.
It's just Dumars trying to save face by continuing to start AI.

The Pistons don't have a PG to suit Rip so it really doesn't matter IMO.

Well, AI should be coming off the bench and have the freedom to shoot away - instead of trying to change his game with the first unit.
Both Rip and AI can't play their games right now.
