In terms of what Indiana got was to pay Rubio, a late first, and two seconds. It's fine. Levert's not a game changer for most teams, but that's nothing special, and if that's what Pistons could get for Grant, I'd rather just have Grant.
Right now that’s the 24th and 33rd pick in this years draft, plus a future second.
That’s not bad for Levert. Grant is a similar player with better defense and I assume has gotten better offers especially with Levert’s injury history. IMO Weaver is both overvaluing and is attached to his guy. I hope he’s holding out for better and not just sticking with his guy. I’m afraid the players on the trade market have already moved on.
Exactly. Grant is a better player than Levert and could have fetched at least a 1st and a 2nd with an expiring.
Id much rather have cap space and the 24th and 33rd pick in this year's draft, which could be packaged with our lottery pick or another player to move up, then having Grant take shots from Cade
People are completely ignoring the fact that Grant is going to go on an NBA tour showcasing his talents, jacking shots up, and dominating the offense next season in an attempt to get a huge deal in free agency.
That will hurt our team more than missed draft picks/young players.
Weaver has poor asset management and refuses to admit his mistake. Killian Hayes should have been moved immediately when it was clearly evident he isnt even a G-league caliber player. Now he is going to hang on to Grant when teams like the Pelicans are giving up top 10 picks for overpaid garbage like CJ McCollum.
