Pretty sure we've been trying to trade Andre for a while and just haven't had any takers. There were several possible trades rumored at the deadline, for instance. He just doesn't fit the modern game in a way that makes him at all appealing for his price tag.

As for Blake, he's a top 20 player in a league with over 30 teams. Those commodities are gold and it's clearly a seller's market right now. Since one top 20 player and a bunch of filler (i.e. the rest of our roster) isn't going to realistically compete in today's league, might as well pull an OKC and sell high for a bunch of young talent and draft assets if we can get them.

Who realistically has a window and assets to get a second/third superstar? That's who we should be looking at. Golden State? Dallas? Miami? Toronto?

I'd say not Toronto. Maybe Dallas? Butler and Blake dont get along so I doubt Miami. I feel like warriors would be a good fit maybe.
Portland seems like the team that could really use him to make a push. If we could deal Dre for something and then Blake to Portland like another poster said. We'd have whiteside at center for a year

Not sure what Portland is giving us that we actually want. Whiteside is just an older version of Dre. Wouldn't want to get rid of Dre just to pick up Whiteside unless we got a really good return on Dre, and I'm not seeing that (or we would've moved him already, IMO). I don't think Portland is breaking up their backcourt for us and the money/draft possibilities just don't seem like they're there to make it worth our while.

Best I could do is like Collins and Bazemore and filler for Blake. There'd have to be a lot of draft picks attached to that to make me consider it. Cap flexibility is fine, but we're not getting free agents.

Pretty sure Whiteside and Lillard are tight. If anything I could see the Blazers bringing Love “home”, his value should be much lower than Blake’s currently.

I think it’s time to trade Blake, we are not one piece away from being a contender. The smartest move would be to trade Blake while his value is probably at its peak with his contract not looking too bad anymore. With the west getting better maybe the blazers feel like they need to make a move and trade for Blake with their small window for contending a championship, seeing the haul that Conley got I don’t think it’d be crazy that we could get Simons, Collins and a a couple firsts for Blake.

Need to put about $28 million in salary filler in there. Looks like Bazemore and Little gets you close enough to do it, though. Is that enough of a return?

Miami seems like a natural trade partner.

Teams where Blake might fit:

ATL - speed up the development timeline while the kids are on rookie deals

BOS - struck out but it ain't completely over

DEN - consolidation deal maybe?

GSW - flip DLo?

MIN - is KAT the next AD?

PHO - who the **** knows lol

POR - lost a lot of depth but didn't add a big ticket kinda player. Maybe they go for it?

SAC - same as the Hawks? Maybe Joe D helps us out cause he owes us lol

SAS - short term shot in the arm with LMA & DeRozan?

WAS - pray BG, Beal & Wall could be good next season?

I would add a 1st to him and offer him up for Dlo. Blake is better right now but rebuilding around a 22 year old locked up PG sounds good

But look at all the examples of good teams just adding more good players and still not winning championships. It takes a lot more than just smashing good players together.

Lets get Manocad a few more KCP's, Stanleys, Bullocks and Dre's so that we can build up some youth again!

I’d rather sign the next Charlie Villanueva, Ben Gordon, and Josh Smith. Maybe throw a Chris Webber in there too. Or just skip them, go straight to the next Blake Griffin and another first round playoff crushing. Awesome! Hey—at least they “went for it”!

The probabililty of drafting the next Stanley over the next Embiid is probably 100-1. Heck, 1st and 2nd picks fail all the time. That is why it is called a lottery and is for gamblers.

I don't think anything we'd get back would be as valuable as the leadership and locker room presence Blake provides. The Drummond, Reggie and Galloway money are the things that are holding back this team from getting better.

Blake was LeBron lite at times last season. Would love to see him with 4 shooters around him.

This is ultimately what I want too. I want to see Blake with full control of the offense and more spacing.

Easier said than done. But looks like we may not even get that wish due to no one wanting our contracts.

We'd want the same pieces they refused to part with for Westbrook though, so it's hard to see a deal getting done there.

My hope is to flip Blake for D-Lo. I like a having our Center and PG spot locked down young.

Jeez... This All-Star, All NBA-er is such a useless POS that's just stinking up the team and embarrassing the city with his play... Let's just beg some sucker-for-a-GM to take him for a bag of stale peanuts & warm soda, and be done with it.

Then we can move on 5 years into the future where we celebrate a successful rebuild that culminates in a 'chip, guaran'Sheed.
