Maybe we can do a Smith+Mitchell for Nash trade

Lakers get Smith, Singler, Mitchell

Minnesota gets few 2nd rounders from Detroit/Lakers or Houston's 1st Round Pick in 2015 from Lakers

Pistons get Nash, a starting SF in Brewer, and have 9M extra to use in free agency

Jennings / Augustin - Nash
KCP / Meeks
Brewer / Butler - Martin
Monroe / Jerebko
Drummond / Anthony

I would take this trade in a heart beat not a big fan of brewer but wouldn't be mad if we got him.

I actually think Minnesota wouldnt want to part with him. He is a steal at 5M a year and would be perfect. Even if Minny doesnt want in on this deal I think the Lakers would listen to this offer and maybe even a Jennings/Smith for Nash/Lin offer. We would then go into next offseason with the cap room to chase Dragic or another PG

Instead of Brewer they probably go Budinger tho. Go after another back up big cause Anthony sucks lol

Plus I think Budinger is on a expiring contract not certain of it tho.

I think Denver and Sacto are the teams most likely looking to trade soon - we don't have anything for Denver outside of a draft pick and we should keep those, but I think Sacto is ripe for the picking to deal Smith.

Smith, Datome, Mitchell for Williams, Thompson, McCallum and a second.

Then try to find a SF upgrade by using Singler/Thompson/Williams contracts.

You'd think that the Kings would be stupid to trade for Josh but the thing is that they would only be giving away players on contracts that they barely use. It's a good gamble for them.

I would do a deal with the Kings if the Pistons could land at least a single usable asset....like McCallum.

Not sure if this was already covered but it looks like Greg Monroe has a default "no trade clause" because he signed the 1yr QO.

The King's interest in Smith is completely tied to Rondo. Smith is their hail mary to get Rondo interested in the team. If they honestly offered anything this summer that saved significant money Stan is dumber than I give him credit for turning it down.

I don't believe the rumors from last deadline that Joe had an offer of an expiring contract for him and I don't believe the rumors that Sacto made a real offer last summer. The only thing I do believe is that we were the only team to make him an offer like he said in his presser.

People here like to put too many players in their trades. It makes it almost unrealistic.

Josh Smith straight up for Kendrick Perkins. This works according to the CBA and if Oakland needs to unload more loot to make it work for their future, they can dump another garbage contract with Perkins.

Pistons get a Backup Center

Thunder get to compete until Durant is back.

How about a deal with the Knicks?

New York receives: Smith, Drummond, Datome, Singler, Jerebko, Mitchell

Why for the Knicks? Phil Jackson trades Melo (and Smith makes 10M less than Melo), gains a possible franchise center in Drummond (who is on a rookie deal), and dumps JR Smith for expiring contracts

Detroit receives: Melo, JR Smith

Why for the Pistons? Give up on a future star for a superstar NOW. That is a team that is ready to win but also has room to grow with KCP, Monroe, and even Jennings. This offseason we would need to get a back up PF and resign Monroe but that's about it.

Jennings --- Augustin / Dinwiddie
KCP ---- Meeks / JR Smith
Melo ---- Butler / Martin
Smith ---- Veteran Signing (Andrew Bynum)
Monroe ---- Anthony

Ooo you're funny, I thought this was serious until I got down to the lineup ... you traded Smith, so he can't start, and then  you said  Bynum  hilarious.

Zach Lowe says Minnesota actively talking on Corey Brewer. Idk if he's a big upgrade over Singler. I wouldn't mind tho.

he is a gigantic upgrade over Singler

Cavs and Rockets supposedly involved

Cavs and Rockets dont have anyone to offer of value in a trade that is better than Singler/Datome

We NEED to get in on this. Minny saves 2M and if they cut Datome clear a roster spot

If Dion Waiters isn't traded for a rim protector center before the trade deadline this season I'll eat a bug.

I think Melo has a no trade clause in his contract. But to be honest this a terrible trade and sign Bynum? LMAO

I liked your Lakers one better.

I'd give Singler & expirings (Jerebko, Datome, Mitchell) for Brewer & junk

Brewer can hit 3s and is a noted defender. it doesn't address our biggest need but I don't think any trade will

Budinger and Brewer = $9.7 mil right now and on the books for next season too

We get a shooter we were linked to previously and a defensive wing

Minny would get Singler & Jerebko...we absorb the extra salary with our remaining cap space

This clears almost $10 mil off Minny's payroll for next season and leaves them with:

Pek/Dieng
Young/Jerebko
Wiggins/Singler
Martin/Bazz
Rubio/Lavine

Lots of development for Flip

We clear the roster fillers out and get 2 things we need:

Dre/Monroe/Anthony
Monroe/Smith
Brewer/Budinger/Butler
KCP/Martin
BJ/DJ/Dinwiddie

We still have Datome and Mitchell but no one has use for them :-(
