Jimmy Butler just won a game in the finals without shooting 1 3 pointer

The Eastern conference champions best player has a 3point percentage of 24.

I would trade the entire Pistons roster for Jimmy Butler, then let him make the free agent pickups. He’s a winner.

No question. He is tremendous.

Heres a great analysis by Mike Schmitz and John Givony, from DraftExpress/ESPN

Best one I've seen

https://www.espn.com/nba/draft/bestavailable
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

What if #2 for #7 and Kennard?

Makes you wonder what the FO on the Sixers were thinking by not retaining Butler.

He’s the type every team needs to really win, a two way guy that can basically do it all at an elite level. That’s what we need as on this team, then look to build around a guy like him.

It’s really too bad this draft doesn’t really have someone like him this year. Next year definitely though which is why we need to get high draft picks next year and the next after

Left Rose out and the others. Been reading Kennard is someone you guys aren't willing to have around due to his injuries and defensive liability?

Some of us, yes. But Kennard can draw a late first round pick so even #2 for Kennard plus + #7 is nuts.

I really hope gores coughs up some dollars to buy another pick. Or OKs a trade to eat a bad salary for a pick.
It seems like there's some good depth in this draft despite the top being underwhelming.

Good for Detroit, but why would gs do that?

Snell fits into their TPE and is 3&D win now vet that's also expiring.

Dropping from 2 to 7 saves them some tax coin and they might not view the top 3 prospects as all that much better than the next 4-8 anyway.

It's a highly unlikely deal but it's "fairer" than #7 & Luke for #2

Hampton working with Penny and Miller for such a long period of time is interesting.

So are the other 4. I've actually seem a view vids on Flynn.

NotACat had to be sarcastic with that post. No way Snell and 7 nets the second pick in this draft. Might be a "fairer" deal for Detroit, but no way GS goes for that. #7 & Luke for #2 is more realistic for both sides if anything.

Yeah, Hampton is a player I’ve looked into more since it came out that he’s already interviewed with Weaver.

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nba/pistons/2020/09/08/detroit-pistons-nba-draft-rj-hampton/5731763002/

He was already the most athletic, explosive guard in the draft. Pair that with improved and consistent shooting mechanics and a great work ethic and we’re talking about a guy with big time upside.

Would Hampton be a reach at 7 though? He's project to go in the preteens-teens right?
