I'm hoping Portland and Sacramento are in a bidding war for Grant now.

My brother mentioned the exact same thing last night. I was bemoaning the fact that it looks like Grant is going to remain a Piston;

"You know, Portland and Sacramento could be in a bidding war for Grant right now"

If only that was true.

*sigh*

We'll see. It's going to be a long two days.

29 hours now until the trade deadline. It feels like if something happens we won't know until tomorrow afternoon. Doesn't seem like anything is close at the moment.

The other wrinkle is if Philly knows Harden is coming this summer like what is reported.... how does that change everything??? Philly is going to need a way to create that cap space and its likely going to mean a team this summer that has a bunch of space (Detroit, Orlando, Portland, San Antonio, or OKC) will get a good deal on Simmons/Tobias .

We could potentially be in that mix as well, or just Harden entering FA could really shrink the overall $$$ available in the market this summer to the point where some great FA bargains could be had.

Rumor is Philly and OKC are talking about Tobias Harris.

So, if true, sounds like Harris and a 1st might be going to OKC for cap relief?

Also rumored, the Pistons sent an offer to the Pacers for Myles Turner and were rejected.

Yeah, I saw that Turner/Grant rumor.

Didn't look credible to me.

I also thought I read that the Harris/Thunder thing was unlikely to actually happen.

I don't want Turner anyway imo he's really overrated.

Translation: Portland isn’t trading us Nurkic

I don’t want him anyway.

I admit that all the possibilities being on the table has me a little terrified Pistons will simply keep Grant and spend big on mediocre talent this summer.

This team right now is not watchable. Olynyk is my last favorite Piston right now. He doesn't do the offense he was brought in for and his defense is even worse than advertised.

I get it. The team is built to lose. It's the blah stretch of February pre All Star Game. Everyone except Cade and Bey could be traded today/tomorrow.

But they still suck.

Ugh I don’t want him anyways. He doesn’t really fit timeline wise. Not much of a rim protector. He misses a ton of games and will demand a huge contract. Yuck.

I didn’t like the Kelly O signing but I bought into all the positivity and spacing hype. Sadly I think my gut instinct was correct.

Honestly, Jerami Grant just isn't all that great and I think teams know that. He's a highly paid third or fourth best starter on a playoff team. I'm sure he has SOME value but not what Pistons are hoping for.

Weaver has really just been crap.

IMO, he’s only made a few good moves. Stewart and Bey picks. The trade for Diallo. Picking up Frank Jackson. That’s about it….can anyone think of others? I’d say the signing of Grant too, but he might mess it up by extending Grant, so…

He did what needed to be done since they moved Billups and bottom out rebuild. I don't even care how he got us there cause he did. We finally got a top pick and will get another to put alongside him.

We might never know the offers that were turned down. But there is a market set with CJ and Levert as far as draft picks and value. There is rumored demand. It’s either Weaver overvaluing, waiting for highest price, or sticking with his guy. I think there’s a top 10 pick out there and am disappointed Weaver might pass it up.

He’s a bad enough GM that we lucked into the first pick.

That’s not a good thing…… if his intention was to tank, then his moves don’t make sense. He’s just a bad GM.
