Joe Dumars would find a job as soon as he was fired. That's an indicator that he's as good as we're going to get.

Guys like Rick Sund and Chris Wallace found other GM spots right away too. Doesn't mean they are any good. You guys are so funny. You whine about Flip, you whine about Curry, you whine about Kuester, you whine about the roster but refuse to blame the guy responsible for ALL OF THAT. WTF?

Kuester can go. i will still give joe a chance. he has an opportunity to trade our glut of wings for a big man. if he can balance our roster by the deadline then we may be halfway decent. i just want a set starting lineup with a set rotation for once in 3 years.

I don't think there will be a set rotation with this coach and team, there are too many players at such a equal skill level. Should have won that game, I blame Kuester for that one, not the roster.

Well, the one positive to a possible sale of the Pistons is that Joe's job is 100% safe at least until the sale is finalized. I don't care if he trades Stuckey, Monroe, Jerebko, and Daye for a future 2nd rounder tomorrow - no way is Karen Davidson firing him.....

Now depending on who buys the team, they may want to hire "their guy" to be the GM whether Dumars is deserving to stay or not. If its Illitch and Wilson, then I think Dumars is still safe.

Not yet... I'm not yet determined to fire him. I say give him until Feb. or the rest of the season to make a trade and go to the playoffs. If he doesn't do either one of those, then I'll hop on the wagon. This is bull, I'm gonna start watching the Red Wings.

I'm really hoping that once Joe D sees the team doesn't work he'll pull the trigger on a capspace trade.

He has been blaming last season on having multiple guys injured, once pistons continue to lose but are healthy, he'll see that they suck & start to salary dump, right?

He can't really think this team as constructed will go anywhere

Worries me that if in Joe's mind, he's not sure what he has. I mean, does he really believe that he has to watch X amount of games with this group before he realizes that he has to pull the plug? I hope not, because by that time, our guys will have EVEN LESS trade value.

Don't people realize that we HAD our coach and it isn't our fault that he walked away from a back to back finals team?

We've been trying to recover ever since. Flip Saunders was the BEST on the market that season, some could have argued Nate McMillan but we went with the coach with more success. Then after 3 years of falling short, we took a shot with a rookie.

Disaster, ok, time to move on, but now Joe's hands are tied, he HAS to stick with the next coach through a rebuilding era, so paying Avery Johnson boatloads of money just doesn't make sense, hire a rookie to hold down the fort till we are ready to start making noise.

Well, one more year till we are ready to start making some noise.

If we don't make a significant trade by the deadline... then yes, fire him.

this roster is a disaster. The Rip + Gordon massive contracts (within months of each other!!!) has ruined our future for years to come. Villanueva embodies everything this team DOESN'T need.

We have exactly 1 strong asset (Prince), maybe 2 (Monroe). Joe refused to use those to get us Cousins. I also refuse to believe he couldn't have outbid Utah for Al Jefferson.

So the trade deadline is his last chance to use Prince's expiring to get us something.

Why did Larry Brown ever leave? He could've definitely won a few more titles with our squad at the time.

Because his health was hurting at the time, and he was flirting with other teams during a playoff run. Namely the cavs, for a front office job.

Any owner would get pissed at that, but i think it was twice as bad with bill davidson. He always seemed to be very big on things like loyalty, and doing things the right way.

Well, I think there is as much reason to fire you and I don't even know what your job is.

Having the best record in basketball for a long period of time isn't really a fluke, and he delivered a NBA title, and nearly had two. That is while, all things being equal, Detroit is not a preferred free agent destination, other than in terms of players having respect for the person you want to fire. There is no one else in the business who has that much success while having the respect of players.

If you are not going to put up any effort in your call to fire a legend in this organization, you are basically the internet equivalent of a drunken stone thrower.

What a dope. EVERYONE agrees that the roster is a disastrous mess. Who's fault is that? Joe's.

Curry was an abomination. Now people want Keuster's head on platter. Who hired those two? Joe.

Do I need to list the abortions that Joe drafted? Monroe is yet another top 10 pick of Joe's that can't crack the rotation.

When was the last off-season where Joe actually improved the roster? I'd say 2004 when he first signed McDyess. Since then the roster has been going backwards.

Every problem this team has right now is HIS FAULT. His. He picks the players and he picks the coaches. When the players suck AND the coach suck it's on the GM.
