Grizzlies possibly shopping Gay

Its weird he couldn't come up with a scenario for the Pistons to jump in. With a short term replacement whose playoff tested in Prince who doesn't command the ball and several expirings to help their cap situation, we're definitely as good a player as any of those other teams mentioned.

I'd offer them Tayshaun, Stuckey, Daye and all the Draft picks we own. Too bad nobody want's that ****. LOL

Yeah Gay is going to have to struggle a bit more and show some discontent with ownership. A 5 game losing streak could do it.

Stuckey, Magette, Max and a 2nd rounder is really all we have to offer. They already have Conley so no interest in Knight. And they already have Marc/Zbo so no interest in Monroe.

Wow, did you see the scenarios on Grantland? The top 3 deals were for Kirilenco and filler, Monta and filler and, Jeff Green and filler... Magette and Tay or Stuckey would be a better deal imo unless they are trying to do a straight salary dump, in that case throw in Bynum and Max w/ Maggette. That will help them more in playoffs than any of those other deals imo.

Maggette/Max/Singler/First for Gay would be ideal

Same thing l thought. If those type of deals are anywhere close to what Grizzly management is thinking then there's absolutely no reason for us to throw in a 1st like Menten mentioned.

Dumba$$ Dumars already said he wont take on any additional salary until the offseason, good luck finding a better player than Gay.

If we could somehow get him with giving up Prince or Daye, we could have a Gay-Tay-Daye perimeter

this makes me sooooo happy, i think he is the perfect player to round out that core we are trying to build, if we can do it without stuckey especially.. i really had my doubts that he would be the first to go if they tried to lose salary, so this report is great to see

this was just the first thing i tried..
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bg6de9e
basically was just looking for a way to give them our 3 most tradeable assets to get rudy, then i needed someone for salaries to match and thought bayless is basically will bynum but 20 times better. if we had to throw in some draft picks i would have absolutely no objections, we need to just do whatever we can to get him!

EDIT: then i thought that this would be a much more likely deal to accept, we lose stuckey but it makes a lot more sense.

And you bought it hook, line and sinker. The whole point of maintaining cap flexibility would be to acquire a Gay-type talent in FA. So if this type of deal presented itself to Joe he would have to jump at it.

I say no to Gay. Too expensive and he's not a lock all-star.

That would be perfect, but it would have to happen around draft time since we need to have our pick before the trade.

Knight / Stuckey
FA? / Daye / English
Gay / Prince / Middleton
Moose / CV
Dre / Slava / Ben ??

That would make me ridiculously happy,

Why do they want to get rid of him? Just a salary dump? Is there some notion that they can't get to the next level with him? Why won't he represent the same problem for Detroit? Because we have cap room upcoming? What would re-signing Monroe, Knight, and Drummond look like in the upcoming years with Gay on the team? I'm just wondering.

What's enough? He's a between average and above average player.

Those are good questions.
As far as the salary cap goes, i can see Gores paying some LT if it means we can get a guy like Gay.
Monroe, Dre, Knight and Gay would have to be one of the better young cores in the league.

Well there were reports earlier in the season about the Pistons really liking Gay and now he is available. You have to believe Dumars is going to try and get him. I would give up just about anyone other than Knight/Drummond/Monroe to get him. I think we would be a playoff team if Dumars can make it happen.
