Charlotte Trade Challenge

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Wed Jan 16, 2013 12:29 am

Ok, I just locked the thread that contained one of the worst trade proposals ever. Maybe it was meant to be sarcastic, but it certainly was a waste of time. So instead of a time waster, how about, who can come up with the best possible trade with Charlotte? It may be tough since we are both rebuilding, but let's see what we can come up with.

Ugh. I might even lock my own thread! The only thing desirable on their team would be MKG, Kemba Walker, or their first round pick. How about Knight and Monroe for all three? Although I'm not sure if Walker is any better than Knight.

Walker
?
MKG
?
Drummond

The first round pick would be Noel, Shabazz, or McLemore. That would be a nice (but very young) team.

lol, i'd still rather have knight than Kemba. i think any trade with Char would be a step backwards in our rebuild. while i would love MKG, the only way we get him is giving up moose and i don't see MKG's upside being worth moose.

maybe?

There seems to be a silly feud going between some DET and CHA fans that started last season with the draft. Go read their game thread from our last match up. Very telling indeed and not in a good way.

Seems we have now been lumped into one homeristic group of (please use less appropriate word) due to a few bad trade proposals by a small number on here as well as the aforementioned back and forth over the last draft on the GB.

so yea... no maybe about it :P

Just letting you guys know that wasn't my trade proposal. Just someone who pretty much tried to duplicate my account and such the best he could to troll. I'm not stupid enough to create a trade like that. Just wanted to clear that up.

I have actually had that happen to me in a way. During a game vs the Raps a couple years back a friend of mine hopped on my PC and started a thread called Kris Humphries rides a girl's bike.

was not too pleased with him for that lol

FWIW - I temp suspended the impostor. :D

I've seen the real CHA_77_Bobcats (lower case) post all over RealGM and it's clear he's not the one to put that stupid trade up. He's a good poster.

as far as getting a trade done, it's hard. The only thikn i can see happening is eating TT contract to take on an asset like Biyombo or something, but since they did that kind of trade for us, i find it hard to think they would do a similar trade.

For what it's worth...

Maxiell, Daye/Bynum and Jonas

For

TT and Biyombo

Looks like a couple of poster here can vouch for you so my apologizes Mr. CHA_77_Bobcats...

The only Pistons/Bobcats trade I can think of is Bynum for Sessions straight up...

thanks guys.

And no way in the world would I do Bynum for Sessions or your expirings for Thomas and Biz.

One trade I can think of that I could get behind is (assuming Jerebko can play some 4) maybe take Jerebko's contract of y'all's hands for your 2nd round pick.

Yeah I saw it they changed the o to a 0. Who the hell does that.

As for trading a 2nd rounder to get rid of Jonas? No. Jonas is good enough to be a 12th man and his salary isn't all that imposing.

Reggie Williams and Ramon Sessions for Stuckey would get the job done. Charlotte fans might not like it, but Stuckey actually has value around the league.

Just so you guys know...

My roommate jumped on my laptop when I was out for dinner and did that... So sorry for that annoyance. I asked him not to do that again and he said he won't. Again, sorry for that.

Thanks guys.

I don't mind it value-wise, but we've got enough two-guards. Stuckey is a two-guard, not a point guard. I think Sessions has more value to us as a natural playmaker coming off the bench. He's been scoring more this season, but his ability to pass is what we brought him in for. As it is we don't have enough ball movement.

Charlotte has been starting Warrick at the PF, they really need an upgrade there, Detroit has been starting Singler at SG, they clearly need an upgrade there.

With that in mind.

Detroit Out: Jonas Jerebko, Kim English, Det 2nd round pick (since Charlotte is taking on extra salary)
Detroit In: Gerald Henderson, Reggie Williams

Detroit add a starter SG and clear more cap space next season. They take on some money this season but are still under the LT so it should be all good.

Charlotte Out: Gerald Henderson, Reggie Williams
Charlotte In: Jonas Jerebko, Kim English, Det 2nd round pick

They take on some long term money but they solve their starter PF issue as long as they don't try to make Jonas a stretch 4 and play him to his strengths. English and Det 2nd are cheap players to fill their roster and minimize the impact of the 9 millions they're taking on with Jonas.

Other than this trade BG and our pick returned for Maggette would be a solid deal for us :D

Idea #2

A lot of fans agree with me nowadays and they want to see Knight moved to a different role, either our starter SG or a combo guard off the bench. Charlotte has Ramon Sessions who is too good to be used as a PG off the bench imo.

They've been using Jeffrey Taylor at SG and they could use an upgrade there. Singler is a solid upgrade over Taylor imo and he is cheap. So...

Detroit Out: Will Bynum and Kyle Singler
Detroit In: Ramon Sessions

Sessions start next to Knight and we bring Stuckey off the bench as our PG/SG backup and go with a 3 guards rotation.

Charlotte Out: Ramon Sessions
Charlotte In: Will Bynum and Kyle Singler

Singler take over Taylor's place and they can go with a 4 wingers rotation with MKG/Singler/Taylor/BG next season.

Bynum is a cheap solution to fill Sessions hole this season. They can get a cheap 10-15 mins PG to play behind Kemba for a lot less than the 5 millions Sessions make.

When I see the red Roc edits I like to use my imagination

But Honestly, looking at both team's situations, there are really no pieces that would make our team significantly better. Sessions would be an excellent third guard, but we should be looking to move our tradeable assets for a SG.
