he and drummond will not able to coexist. monroe is my favorite player in this roster but I am worried about his improvement. he was better than this year.

This is a main reason why I consider trading Monroe for Cousins -- who has a better outside (beyond 10 feet) shot than Monroe.

From 10-15 feet:
- Cousins- 27%FG
- Monroe- 26% FG
From 16-30 feet:
- Cousins- 32%FG
- Monroe- 32%FG
Neither guy is a guy that you want shooting the ball, and atleast Monroe has the good sense not to chuck up so many jumpers. Its clear that our 1-3 have to really be able to stroke the ball. We need a 2 that can light it up and whoever takes over for Prince needs to have a great jumper as well

^^^But Cousins is also the better defender of the two....
We need a slasher moving forward as well. Our long-term SG/SF combination should include one slasher who can shoot if he needs to, and a shooter.
That guy (the slasher) could be Stuckey. But if its Stuckey, we need a shooter at the 3.
PG - Knight (shooter)
SG - ???
SF - ???
PF - Monroe
C - Drummond

I have figures that state otherwise:
10-15 feet:
Cousins = 29%FG (career 32%)
Monroe = 21%FG (career 29%)
16-23 feet:
Cousins = 28%FG (career 36%)
Monroe = 29%FG (career 26%)

I have never heard of hoop data, but you can check basketball-reference.com
And Cousins beng a good defender is also a myth

Give Monroe one more summer to improve his jump shot...His shot will be more efficient next season, just watch...We need to worry about getting a starting caliber SG more than anything...

Cuz isn't the dominant defender everyone thought he would be, he is slightly above average at best as he is too concerned about his offense.

I'm not convinced that he will improve it, but I agree with you that finding a real SG is our most important task right now.

A jumpshot is one of the easier skills to develop in the NBA. It may take a while but if guys continue to work on it there is a good chance they will develop one. The thing that scares me the most about Monroe is his inability to finish easy layups as well as his dumb TO's.

monroe's finishing is very good imho. some turnovers result from double team and sometimes he forces to much. he is terrific passer but he rarely finds open three pointers. (he only pass the ball inside) i like his basketball iq and i think he will fix his some problems. TO's is one of them.
if he and drummond can coexist (i mean if he hits open jumpers ) his inability of defenf P2R's will not a big problem because of drummond's agility. his one one on defense is not good but not terrible as P2R defense.

These aren't fair stats because Cousins takes a lot more jumpshots so his % is going to be lower. Monroe only takes like 1 jumpshot a game if that, and he rarely makes it. Plus it looks very shaky and unconfident. Put it this way, I have more confidence in Cousins jumpshot than Monroes, if I had to choose which one I wanted taking jumpshots for my team.

% has nothing to do with volume...

The only big man I would be willing to package Monroe for is Love because of his ability to both spread the floor and still play like a real big man (rebound and post up).

I want to trade Monroe for the #1 overall pick and draft the best 2/3 scorer in the draft. With Drummond the anchor at center, I think we could find a lesser, though much better fit at PF to compliment Andre completely.

That's an interesting idea and may be plausible considering all of the talk about how teams should trade their pick due to this draft being weak. We could do that and draft Shabazz and then sign Josh Smith to fill the PF position.
Knight
Muhammad
Prince
Smith
Drummond
Could be great defensively.

Kevin Love plays no defense.
