Long Term Where do you see Brandon Knight on this Team

There seems to be a lot difference of opinion, when it comes to Brandon Knight. Where do you see him in the future as part of this team or if at all

Starting PG for sure. There are many scoring PGs in the league (Westbrook, Rose, Irving, Nelson, Lillard just off the top of my head) and I think Knight will be one too. I see him averaging 6-7asts in his prime, especially when Dre enters the starting lineup and we get a quality SG next to him. I think he has a bright future and with still tons of room to grow. He has proven that he is far more effective when the ball is in his hands and he is pushing in transition, playing in P&Rs, and looking for his shot. His defense has been spectacular as well. I see no reason whatsoever to play him at SG other than special situations.

Someone voted starting SG. I just don't see it. He'd be too small to guard opposing 2s on a nightly basis.

I see him as a six man. I just don't the passing skills developing. Still comes down way too much looking for his own shot and not looking to get the team involved. He clearly look like he has a low basketball IQ as well. I just dont see him being a good fit next to Drummond in all honesty.

This says it all. 31 points, 3 turnovers, and zero assists tonight while Bynum had 12 assists to 2 turnovers. I'm just not seeing him being the PG of the future. He's in his second year and looks like he's not a starting PG. Sorry. I'm taking my analysis off his play and not hope/dreams for the kid. He's never really played PG in his life and looks like a guy who looks for his shot first. I don't need my PG leading the team in shot attempts and last in assists. :wavefinger:

Sixers fan here, I come in peace, I've followed BK since last year (statwise). Can you see him as a Jason Terry kind of player? Entered the league as a PG but wants to shoot first (being a good shooter) and then is moved to the SG spot even though he is undersized. What do you think?

Not sure what you are talking about. He played pg in high school and at Kentucky.

This is easy, he's a starting PG...Once we get a legit SG next to him his assist will start to build up...

Can we pose this question a year from now... he has his moments... looking for steps to improve his teammates and reducing t.o.s

I think he's closer to Gilbert Arenas/Jrue Holiday than he is Jason Terry in style of play.

Starting PG that plays off the ball at times and can shoot. So uh... what he's doing.

I like the look with BK at the 2, but not a big fan of him playing there full time. And it's waaaaay to soon to give up on him developing as a PG. He'll never be a pure pg, but that doesn't bother me.

no, the problem with Brandon is he doesn't want to shoot first, he's always trying to make the right play, ie he's over thinking. i think BK is our starting PG for the future who can also play SG at times.

^^Cosign

The kid wants to figure it out. And seems to be approaching it like a calculus word problem. He's overthinking. It takes time for some players to develop in the most difficult position in the NBA. He's getting there. He needs to be brought along and given the an opportunity. I like the defense. I like his shooting. I like that he's penetrating more this year than last year. Pretty soon the game is going to slow down for him and he'll be carving defenses up with his passes as well as his shots.

It's coming. Gary Payton struggled. Steve Nash struggled. Chauncey Billups struggled in Boston and Toronto...and waiting a long time before getting a real shot in Minnesota and Detroit. Russell Westbrook struggled. Still those guys were given a chance and they ended up being among the best.

I was a real fan of me wanting him at the sg position, but I think like others have said put a good sg-sf next to him and he will look 100 times better,he has looked alot better at pg recently and finding his man better. To be honest I dont think you can go wrong either way,Ill give him another year .

i'll be happy if he gets close to an arenas type player, certainly not billups (dude was an all-defensive pg)

Starting pg. Knight is putting in work in shooting, slashing and defense. His defense has been great and likely got us a W last night by closing out on Reddick so fast. Court vision is usually the last thing that comes to a pg, he will get 6-7 a game in his career, and really that's all he needs to do .
