Boozer for Bargs, Det assists

Post#1 » by retrolenny » Fri Feb 8, 2013 8:26 pm

Chicago & Tor are in preliminary discussions to trade Bargs for Boozer. Would the following trade make sense? I think it might be acceptable to all parties.

Thoughts???

New rotation would be:

Cald/Bynum
Knight/Singler
Singler/Landry
Moose/Johnson/Max/CV
Drummond/Moose

That is not the kind of Salary I would want to take on...fields is a horrible contract and Amir makes too much money.

I don't care for that trade. Landry is an awful contract, and Amir Johnson isn't much better. Plus both their contracts are for more money over more time than Jerebko and Stuckey. Stuckey will be a very good trade chip next season (only 4mil guaranteed) so I don't see us doing this trade.

I doubt the Pistons would take on $36 mil of salary just to get Landry Fields and Amir Johnson.

It's bad for us but at least it's not as terrible as giving Mayo a max deal I guess.

I adjusted the trade a little:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=apbyskc

Additions to the trade. Kleiza has a buyout so we pay a little bit on him. We also acquire the Bulls 5 million trade exception from Chicago. Detroit receives cash to pay for the Kleiza buyout from Toronto. Chicago also sends us a lotto protected first rounder. So it looks like this overall:

Detroit Gets:
F Linus Kleiza
5 Million Trade Exception
Lotto Protected First Via Chicago
3 Million Cash Via Toronto

Toronto Gets:
F Carlos Boozer

Chicago gets:
C Andrea Bargnani
F Jason Maxiell

I'm not a big Kleiza fan. That said, I'd much rather have him than JJ. I actually think we can do better than that for Max.

What incentive do we have for making this trade? Fields has a HORRIBLE contract and Johnson's isn't very good either imo, and neither have a place here long-term. Would rather just keep JJ and waive Stuck next summer.

I have no problem helping facilitate this with Stuckey+ --- as long as we're getting Ross from Toronto and/or Butler from Chicago.

I second that notion.

If Brooklyn trades Hump for Ben Gordon, we should offer em this.

I'd do Maxiell for Brooks in a heart beat.

Landry Fields is awful...Amir Johnson is overpaid, especially for a bench player...We'll never be a competitive or respectable team with Singler in our starting line-up...Good idea sir, but no...

I know Amir was here before... but you guys may not have any idea how much Amir has grown as a player in this league. He is undoubtedly one of our most important players and people who think he has a bad contract are wrong. He is paid fairly in my opinion.

With that said, I doubt he'll be moved :)
