Could Pistons help Nets get Josh Smith???

I read that the Nets were trying to get Josh Smith but Atlanta doesn't want Kris Humphries
What do you think?
Atlanta gets - Jason Maxiell, Charlie Villanueva
Brooklyn gets - Josh Smith
Detroit gets, Kris Humphries, 1st round pick from Brooklyn
Brooklyn wants a championship, Russian guy will resign Smith. Fits perfectly with Brook Lopez
Atlanta gets 2 expiring contracts and gets not to take Humphries.
Pistons get a quality backup PF that can actually rebound. and an extra 1st rounder. I might be kind of greedy with the 1st rounder, but hey I like draft picks.

Why would we want to pay 12mil for a backup big and pick-up a late 1st rounder in an awful draft??. No, no, no...

Better yet, why wouldn't the Hawks just let Josh walk rather than pick up 2 mediocre players?

Or this:
Atlanta gets Jason Maxiell and Corey Maggette and Andray Blatche
That way they can get all their money expired, get a talented PF in Blatche, and can work in the offseason since they will lose Josh Smith anyway.

Hey don't laugh too hard, trading's not my thing, (even though I called it on Calderon).
I'm much better at the draft.

Why wouldn't the Pistons just cut out the Nets and trade Maxiell & CV31 for JSmoove if the Hawks would do that?

Ding, ding, ding. The way this is proposed makes no sense for DET and the revised offer, in which we burn our big expiring AND take Humph back, is even worse.

Because Smith is more likely to sign with the Nets where he is needed as starting PF than be a backup to Greg Monroe or play out of position at SF.
If I'm the hawks I'm either trying to interview an underrated PF and get a draft pick or create cap room. Josh is leaving for nothing anyway, it's being driven by personality not basketball.
Only way it makes sense for the Pistons is if they get an extra pick. No such thing as a bad draft pick if you know what your doing. Drafting is the easiest way to get undervalued talent.

Doesn't make a ton of sense for us, but it makes less than zero sense for Atlanta.
Letting him walk would be better. Easily better.
