Stuckey for Afflalo?

If Orlando is blowing up their team, it seems like they might be up for getting rid of Afflalo and his multiyear contract at around 7-8mil per year. We could trade them Stuckey and they exercise the buyout on him for next year, saving them a lot of money. So first question is, would they do this?
Second question is would this work for us. If we had actually planned on keeping Stuckey for next season, then this really doesn't hurt our cap space (at least not for next year). It would also give us a starting SG, which we need. Would this be a better solution than going after (and not necessarily getting) Mayo?
Since neither of us are going to the playoffs, we could make that trade now.

I dont think Stuckey would get it done, especially if they were just going to buy him out. in the offseason we could take on Afflolo without Orlando having to take any salary back.
I dont think they'll just give Afflolo away for nothing, but if the draft doesnt shake out the way we would like, I think our pick plus our ability to absorb his salary could get him.

I would love to have Afflalo back, not sure what they would want though... They might want stuck because next year their backup point guard is E'twaun Moore

This is a trade that I thought should happen before this post was put up, so yes I would do it. Orlando only really sheds about $3 mil this year, so we might have to include...which would be beyond fine.

Top 10 pick for Afflalo??? You serious?
OP-- I'd do it and then go after Iggy(and hopefully not for a huge contract) in FA. A Knight-Afflalo-Iggy combo wouldmake for an awesome perimeter defense + it'll give you an additional ball handler(Iggy) on the court.

That would be a scary D, adding in Drummond and we wouldn't give up more than 90 a game

in this draft, yeah. if we end up staying at 9 or falling to 10 or 11 id rather have Afflolo, who could step in next year and fill a huge need, than take a flyer on a guy with potential but is probably going to take a couple years to develop and has a good chance of not panning out or a guy who is solid but their ceiling is probably Afflolo. thats basically what this draft is after the top 8, solid role players and high risk/decent reward guys.

I think in this draft, the 10th pick is still worth a little more than Afflalo, we could give them a second with Stuckey, so they can add depth?

I dont think Orlando really has any use for Stuckey, especially if they end up drafting Smart. the only way I could see us getting Afflolo without giving up a pick is if we were willing to take on Big Baby or Al Harringtons contract as well, which I wouldnt really want to do.

That's the point were taking Afflalos contract

I think Afflalo is better than anything int he 6-10 range honestly, especially considering how weak this draft is.
17/4/4 with great defense, good but not flashing decision making and a three point threat? I'd give up a pick top 3 protected for him.
Stuckey plus a 1st though? I think they're going to need to give us something else along with Afflalo.

I think I would be ok with giving up our pick for him, and they have a ton of young talent, so take your pick

I don't think this idea has any legs. There is nothing bad about Afflalo's contract or Orlando's cap situation (Harrington and Turk are partially guaranteed next year). Afflalo was a fairly big piece of the Dwight trade and everything I have read suggests the Magic see him as a valuable asset.
To answer the other question, yes, I'd prefer Afflalo at $7million/year to Mayo at whatever ridiculous contract he is going to get.

I don't want the Pistons' front office making any moves regarding Afflalo. They made one of the worst trades in recent NBA history the last time we made a move involving him. If the franchise had cleaned house since then, I would feel differently, but the same simpletons still have their undeserved positions.

I'd prefer Aaron over some free agent on a 5 year contract. I'm guessing Orlando would want a 2nd or a future 1st though.

Well, I've been a huuuuge AA fan since we drafted him so I'd love to have him. A 3 guard rotation of Knight/Afflalo/Calderon looks decent to me. Then go after a 3 in free agency and draft bpa. But I doubt I'd want to add the sort of incentive Orlando would ask for. But I dunno... maybe.

And to think our genius GM gave this guy away so we could have the cap space to sign Chris Wilcox.

YEA,hopefuly he learned a big lesson in not giving a player a chance to see what hes got.

You've got to be kidding here, right? If anything, that's been one of his worst traits for years.....
