Ok very simple question, Which contract would you prefer?

Ellis at 3/8 per or Mayo at 4/12 per? and Why?
I don't really have a horse in this race just interested in the boards oppinion

Mayo at 4/12...Mayo's younger, bigger, and has more upside...

Mayo...Ellis is too ball dominant and isolates too much.

Mayo is an underrated passer as well. Hes also vastly improved on defense.

3/8 is a bargain for Monta, although I am not sure how you use him to build a team that contend. He's been playing some PG recently. I don't think 4/12 is good value for Mayo, so it's a tough choice for me.

Mayo and it's not close. His Bball IQ is far superior and he's more versatile and a better defender too. Also, Mayo is 6'4 so he's not drastically undersized like Ellis is.

Add another option for Tyreke Evans for 4/7

*I guess he's not undersized, but I think he's a better option than Ellis/Mayo, price-wise and star potential.

FYI. Ellis is getting more than 8 per and Mayo is getting less than 12 per. -B

We just went through the same thing with Stuckey. No to tyreke.

I don't want Evans at all, even if he is the last SG available in free agency...

Evans is way more talented than Stuckey, and aside from neither being great shooters, they are really nothing alike, imo. Evans is bigger, longer, more athletic and an excellent finisher. Stuckey is short for a SG with t-rex arms and cant finish his lunch. Evans is a high FG% scorer, Stuckey is a low FG% scorer. Tyreke is an excellent playmaker too.

To me, Evans and Drummond could be a potentially dominant duo together at the C/SG positions

Evans.

Detroit has seen enough of tweeners. I want a shooting guard that can shoot the ball. In that case I'd pick Mayo, easy. He spreads the floor, has a solid finish under the basket, unselfish passer, looks like a good team player to me.

Draft McLemore or Shabazz and call it a day at the SG spot

SG - LOTTERY / English (Middleton can play here as well)

Undersized SGs = FAIL

I like Evans too. We'd have to do a S&T. Maybe for Singler? I think his ability to ball handle will help Knight alot.

I want nothing to with Evans or Ellis.

Mayo will probably be our best bet if we're looking for a FA SG.
