Detroit Out: Stuckey+2013 First Round pick(4th)

Denver Out: Wilson Chandler

Why:
Lets face it, stuckey has talent, but he can't thrive here in detroit. I'm not quite sure what type of environment he would, but going to a contender like Denver seems like a ideal spot. A motivated stuckey is a baller. We give up the all important draft pick. While i would love for this to be shabazz, i really don't think a rookie, in this draft class, no matter the talent is going to have enough poise to contribute to this team for 72 games and possibly playoffs.

With that in mind, if we really want to be a playoff team, we need to stop d* around with a team full of kids, and bring in some veterans. A all purpose young SF, that can score, has the size to defend lebron, george etc and on a great contract is what we need.

I've been on this bandwagon for sometime and i'll admit his 35 point game did cause a bit of a knee jerk. However i'm sick of drafting players who we expect to fill voids on a team that needs a veteran presence. i'd trade for chandler than hope stuckey shows up and/or a kid right out of college can compete against Lebron, George, Gay, Green, and all the other Vets.

We sign Monta,or OJ trade for EG

We become

Knight
EG
Chandler
Monroe
Dre

Bynum(yes resign him)
English
Middleton/Singler
CV/FA
Krav

I think #4 is too valuable for WC. If we fall to around #9 then I would like it.

i'd normally agree, but i don't think in this draft. i don't see any player outside Shabazz that is going to have a damian lillard type of effect for our team, where they are effective for a entire season and playoffs. i think next year we need a veteran presence rather than another rookie. We have this mentality that we just need to draft that next player that's going to get us over the hill, i don't think that's the best strategy at this point of our franchise.

Wilson Chandler isnt worth a lotto pick. I'd just assume sign JR Smith for the MLE if that was the way to go.

dead serious, there's no guarantee that #4 pick is going to be even to the level of Chandlers talent. Why in a season where we need to win are we going to rely on Stuckey and the potential of a 4th pick in a weak draft? We could change that player to CV and i think it would still be fair.

At the #4 you want a guy who have a solid shot at being an all star, a difference maker. People say the draft is weak almost every year but other than 2000 There are all stars in every draft, especially in the top 5.

Chandler is nice and all but he is an slightly above average all around player. I would be happy to have him but not at the expense of a lotto píck, let alone the #4 pick, that's nonsense imo.

The past 6 years you can easily find 4 players who either made the all star or should've made.

2010

Wall
Cousins
Monroe
George

2009

Griffin
Harden
Curry
Holiday

2008

Rose
Westbrook
Love
B.Lopez

2007

Oden
Durant
Horford
Noah

2006

Aldridge
Gay
Rondo
Millsap

2005

Bogut
Deron
Paul
Bynum

So you don't throw away the #4 pick for a fine player You do your scouting job properly and you grab an all star player. Period.

Again that's a lot of if's and's or buts, also to make it more relevant here are the past 4th picks since 2000

2000-Marcus Fizer
2001 -Eddy Curry
2002-Drew Gooden
2003-Chris bosh
2004-Shaun Livingston
2005-Chris Paul
2006-Tyrus Thomas
2007-mike Conley
2008-Russel Westbrook
2009-Tyreke Evans
2010-Wesley Johnson
2011-Tristan Thompson
2012-Dion Waiters

If you look at that list, the chances of gettin a franchise player is pretty much 50/50 with the 4th pick. then when you look at the production of those picks their rookie year, it gets even dimmer. Again if our goal next year is to make the playoffs why are worried about adding another "franchise"/"cornerstone" piece that's going to take 2-3 seasons to produce on a level we need them to be to actually contend. At what point are we going to stop rebuilding and start contending. By all indications it has to be next season.

Wilson chandler helps us towards that goal a lot more than Stuckey or CV and a rookie.

Trading a lottery pick for Wilson Chandler is a fire-able offense

I did she doesn't need to add anymore than what I wrote. At the #4 you do your job properly and you draft an all star because 100% for sure at least one will be available.

If we're trading the #4 pick and Stuckey, it should be to move up in the draft to get McLemore.

#4 pick alone is >>>>>>> Chandler.

At #4, we could have a shot at drafting one of Porter, Shabazz, or Oladipo.

Stuckey for Chandler straight up might be more of a fair deal. We get Denver's backup SF and take on his unsavory contract while Denver could actually use Stuckey and take the salary relief as well.

Would love to draft for Wilson Chandler but not for a top 10 pick (even in this draft).

Agree with the others, #4 to valuable even in this draft.

I don't like the trade either.

But let me step into the "realistic coolness" for a moment. (I hate when people do this btw...)

We just traded Tay, a solid small forward, (plus Daye *shrug*) for an expiring.
Now we trade an expiring AND our lotto pick for a solid small forward???

GM's are masters of bs. Covering your butt is BS 101. Won't happen. :)

I've been saying this deal for a while...I think that deal could actually net us Chandler...We could throw in both our 2013 2nd rounders just to say "Thank You"...

LOL. I am sure that Denver would probably take a late 1st rounder for Chandler straight up if they keep Iggy.

the lottery pick is a little too much for chandler, but i do like the idea of going for chandler.
Stuckey and a small incentive should be enough.

we need to hang onto those lottery picks.
