Drummond to return, start at Center vs MIN!

Twenty-four hours after dominating the champs, he (Monroe) didn't have it against the league's worst team, but given the way his shots were blocked, it was obvious he suffered from tired legs. As the Pistons approach their 71st game Tuesday, it's not a huge surprise.

He'll have to adjust again come Tuesday against Minnesota. Even though the Pistons haven't announced it and Lawrence Frank is trying to play it very close to the vest, Andre Drummond will return to the lineup after missing 21 games because of injury, will start at center, and Monroe will shift to power forward.

Frank is trying to play it very close to his vest? What for?

Keeping it a secret from other tankers/losers?

He doesn't want to give MIN any insight into his gameplan...you know because these two teams could meet again in the Finals....

Drummond at c and Monroe at pf is what we should have done from the beginning of the year. Drummond is an absolute beast, I am so high on him it's not even funny. I love what he adds to the team just off of his rebounding on both ends of the court and his presence in the lane getting dunks and steals. The guy is raw on offense, he's definitely not a back to the basket type player right now, but we don't really need that. Get out and running with him or play some pick and roll game, he's absolutely dominate.

I'm guessing Frank thinks that the Pistons are in fifth place but doesn't realize that the 5th place is fifth in the lotto rankings.

As excited as I am to have Drummond back, and to finally see him and Moose start together, I'm still a little leery about how its going to effect our tank.

Like I thought in the summer, had we started Drummond from Day 1, I think we would've won a lot more games. Now that he's going to be starting, I could see us winning a bunch of these remaining games. With the standings so close, we could go from 5th to 9th very easily now.

Still though, we need to see what the guys we do have can do together, and thats more important than lottery position. Especially in this weak of a draft. In other words, the Moose/Dre combo succeeding is more important than any of these prospects in this draft.

This team in this configuration has never played together, and Drummond and Knight are just coming back from injuries (Knight is still a bit hobbled, but he's playing through his) and it's unlikely that these two young players will have their rhythm back.

No question we're gigantically improved on defense with those two however.

I expect the typical mixed-bag, inconsistent play and results that you always get with very young teams. However, while we'll still lose most of the remaining games, the games will be more fun and competitive.

Great to hear. Let's go on a run to close the season. Draft sucks anyways.

I can't wait...I agree with Kilo, might as well end on a competitive note because this draft is garbage...

+ 1

hope the Pistons go on a run. It's going to improve the morale of the young players. I also hope that Frank gets fired anyway.

Andre Drummond will not play on Tuesday, despite some reports to the contrary. Will Bynum also out.

Draft may suck compared to other years, but picks 1-5 are much better than 8-12.

if he declares, I really want GR3, he can probly be had 8-10..

I dont care about this draft my only concern is Calderon getting re-signed when this team needs to make a real effort bringing Chauncey back

A run is not good for morale sorry

What happened to morale the last 3 years.

Big runs to end the season, start the following season stuck in the sand and playing terrible

A run at the end of the season helps no one except the other teams fighting for a top 5 pick.

With a draft so weak its important we end up in the top 5 to increase our chances to move up to the top 3.
