So right now, we're projected to be draft Oladipo.

What do you guys feel about that? We don't have the same chance of drafting McLemore like we did with Drummond. But Oladipo playing with us isn't a bad thing either. In fact I think he'd be a solid pick in contrast to this weak draft. Not a star but not a scrub either and can contribute 9-11 points.

I'd be fine with this if a couple things happen between now and then:

1) We don't move up into the top-3 of the draft
2) If McLemore or Porter don't fall into our laps
3) If he proves he can consistently hit shots from the outside (pre-draft workouts)
4) If he proves to be long enough to play SG (I worry he's shorter than most SGs)

I think people see him as a swingman. If I'm not correct, then I apologize. So in short, if our team decided to play small in some cases, he'd be the perfect fit.

Pretty much covered it all. Pre-draft workouts and measurements can change quite things a lot though, and agents as well. Nobody expected Waiters to go 4th. I didn't even know who he was until the week of the draft.

Yeah I expected Andre to be a #4 (thank god he didn't). And while pre-draft does put a player's draft stock into factor, our needs for positions like SGs should be put into question too. In this case, I'd like to see McLemore, Oladipo, or Porter come to our team. MAYBE even Smart if the Pistons decide to put Brandon as our SG (which would be considered stupid by now. He's clearly our future PG).

I'll pass on Oladipo...I see him as a player better suited to coming off the bench...If we're blessed with the 5th pick McLemore will fall to us...If we're picking 6th-8th I want Muhammad, Smart or I hope we trade the pick for proven talent...

A lot of people are sleeping on him...
Let me say this as an IU fan having watched him since day 1...
Dude has evolved as a basketball player at each level and every year...
People claiming that he can never be anymore than a role player are very misinformed.
Now mind you I take him if McElmore and Porter are off the board...

Oladipo is a top 5 pick in this draft? God this draft sucks.

I'm just not sold on the guy ever becoming more than a 4-5th option at best. He wasn't a scorer in college and very rarely do you see a guard become a scorer in the pros when he wasn't in college. What NBA comp do you guys have for him because I can't think of an all star talent who compares to this guy and if we're drafting #5, we should be swinging for an all star talent even if we miss.

Rich man's Avery Bradley. Taller, faster, stronger, more athletic and a better finisher at this stage of his development.

I want to see how well he shoots if the Kings bring him in for a workout...

We should definitely be swinging for the fences though. We aren't going to become contenders in this day in age by playing it safe.

The chances that there will be any All-Stars after the Top 3 picks in this draft are very slim. This isn't 2009 or 2012 for that matter. 2013 draft is considerably weaker than 2011's. We already have our 3 scoring options in Brandon, Moose, and ultimately, Andre (who I believe will be our leading scorer). Gilchrist wasn't a scorer for Kentucky and he was #2. But he's irrelevant to this discussion. Really, all we need is a capable 12 PPG player and Oladipo can be that player with his athleticism and versatility. If McLemore don't come down to us, I think Oladipo can be a safe pick for that SG position.

I'd rather take a chance on Shabazz.

Oladipo will be really good, but I don't think he will ever be better than a 3rd option guy.

When you factor in his defense he will be more valuable than your typical 3rd option, but still don't see him as having any star potential.

With Shabazz, he's going to at least be good enough to be a 3rd option. He won't have the defense of Oladipo, but I'll trade the defense for a chance of him becoming a superstar scorer #1 option. And at worst he will give you the same offense as Oladipo.

We need that #1 guy on offense more than another role player.

At least he is a good defender and finisher. Kind of a Dumars guy. He has been shooting like crazy in his second year, that shouldn't continue. We are one of the least athletic teams in the league even with Drummond, so if we can grab one of McLemore, Oladipo, Shabazz, maybe Porter, it will improve the team.

Then if that's the case, we should trade the pick to the Thunder for Sefolosha and the TOR pick.

One thing to factor in is his character versus say Shabazz...Oladipo all day. He works his ass off and doesn't bitch and moan if he's not in the spotlight. All that being said I could see Joe being attracted to that. Just another element to think about with these players coming out.

I think Oladipo's and maybe GR3's stock will rise before the draft.

Projected by whom?

DX mock up has this blurb - Team needs have NOT yet been taken into account in this mock draft.

draft.net has us taking Bennet.

I don't know who Ford has us taking though.
