Translated from google, so make of it what you will, but basically sounds like sources close to Pistons say Joe loves him some Euro Phil, and they'll meet in London at the Final Four to discuss the job.
Sounds great to me if true.
The summit between Joe Dumars and Zeljko Obradovic will be in the Final Four in London
Rumorología increases the Detroit. Zeljko Obradovic's name made an impact in the buff to the franchise. Obradovic dubbed the "Phil Jackson" European. Your profile is highlighted winner in Europe and a slight ideological proximity with Greg Popovich. cultural revolution Joe Dumars had in mind seems to be accepted in the city, just a matter of having courage to run. traditional press insists coach's profile American faithful to group management model. Dumars at the moment is silent and the rumor mill increases. Zeljko Obradovic name remains intact.
Sources close to the franchise have assured these lines "Dumars is absolutely in love with Zeljko Obradovic" , but also are aware that the General Manager will play their professional status in the NBA if the revolution fails. Dumars considers similar in NBA history. Few coaches in the NCAA have been consolidated in the NBA. Quite the contrary. They are similar precedents that justify Joe Dumars resistance when opting for Zeljko Obradovic. Sources familiar with the General Manager of Detroit also argue that the inexperience of the coach in the NBA, how many games to play and low margins for the preparation of the meetings are aspects that penalize facing Obradovic Dumars will side with him . Aspects that can motivate the choice of a comfortable American coach.
Dumars kept quiet when it comes to opting for the profile of the new coach for Detroit Pistons. Dumars Nothing is marked on your calendar a date, the May 9 plans to fly to London for Final Four Euroleague. Dumars is usually a regular of this event but this time is especially relevant, Zeljko Obradovic also plans to attend the O2 Arena in London to witness the four games to play. Dimitris Itoudis also be in London. Dumars and Zeljko will meet to discuss the situation. Obradovic is aware of all the interest surrounding Detroit. The meeting is the key. If Dumars is not decided before the comfortable decision for choosing the summit to lay the foundations for the cultural revolution will be in the Final Four.

GREATEST. MIS-TRANSLATED. SENTENCE. EVER.
Just imagining him showing up naked to the job interview ... Kinda reminds me of ...

He also said Dumars was going to be fired last week. Not sure what his deal is and why keeps thinking he knows inside info on the Pistons...

If this guy is going to be the new coach, I don't think it bodes well for Knight as the PG of the future. Fundamentals and BBIQ are very important in the European leagues.

Are we really taking a foreign source as gospel?
In any case, Lindsay Hunter is interviewing for the job according to V.Goodwill and Matt Dery

Honestly, I think I trust these foreign sources more than local guys nowadays, except for Dery who's always been really reliable. But these guys like Langlois, Goodwill, Ellis, etc you can't take a thing they say serious anymore because their whole motive is to kiss Joe's ass. Whereas these foreign papers don't really have any bias in the matter.
Also, I think it was one of these foreign papers that first reported Frank was going to be out like mid-season, when they interviewd Jerebko's father and he said he didn't think Frank would be back or something like that.
This report is certainly not gospel, but also not sure what they would be making this stuff up for.

Honestly if Dumars hires another one of his buddies....well, I just don't know what I'll do.
I honestly don't know what to say about Obradovic because I simply know absolutely nothing about him.

^Sounds more like a courtesy interview to me. Joe did the same for Ewing last time.

Agreed.
I fear Hunter falls into the Dumars' good 'ole boys club more than him actually being the best candidate.

Thats what I love about it. We aren't winning any championships going the safe route. So might as well take a chance on this guy. You have to make bold moves to win big. Better to take a chance to do something great and fail, than to just stay in mediocrity forever playing musical chairs with retreads.
With Popovich and Duncan close to retiring, Obradovic/Drummond could potentially be the next Pop/Duncan for the next decade.
They are young enough for a 10-12 yr run together if it works. Obradovic is only 53 and Drummond 19. Around the same ages Pop/Duncan were when their run started.

I'm worried about him not being able to take feedback without getting mad at the players.

This. Imagine if he did end up becoming like Phil/Pop though, Dumars would look like a genius.

That wouldn't be the worst thing. This team obviously is far from disciplined, and if the coach chewing out players is what it takes to get this team in order, then I'd be all for it. Enough of these babysitter coach's who coddle these guys and are afraid to stand up to them.

id be all for hiring a guy with reports like this for a two year contract and if he hits, then its great for us. we need someone who can whip these kids into shape and still bond and grow with them.
he may also be able to change the game to. shape our roster to fit his needs and still mix it in with the oldschool nba type game. could workout great.
