Joe should go after gordon this summer they seem like they want to trade him but what will it take to get him stuckey and our num 7 pick?

Please can we not trade the #7 for Gordon

This has been discussed in other threads but it's cool... I'm starting to warm up to this idea as long as we can send back substantial salary (re Stuckey & CV)... the sticking point is having a small backcourt with Knight & EG...
EG is not as short as some may think with his span.

I'd prefer dealing our pick & Stuckey for Rondo... use the F.A. $'s for a good defender/shooter at SG... then convert BK into a super sub.

Hey look! Another thread about Eric Gordon!

Eric Gordon should be had for expirings and Stuckey. Nothing more. He's a bad contract at the moment. No way we give up a pick for him.

How about we send our two second rounders and Singler to Miami for LeBron James and their next three first round picks too?

Or, how about we sign and trade Maxiell to Portland for Aldridge and Lillard?

I have mixed feelings on Gordon, due largely to his injury history. IF healthy he'd be a nice fit. IF unhealthy he's an albatross. That lack of certainty makes his value rather questionable.

Would I give up the #7 pick for him IF the Hornets took back bad salary? I guess...but we really don't have any bad contracts anymore. We already unloaded Lil Ben. Maxiell is now an expiring. CV can still be amnestied. Stuckey bought out (and he only has 1 yr remaining anyway). Believe it or not Jerebko is now our worst contract and his contract only runs 2 more yrs @ 4.5 mil.

Couldn't really see the Hornets (not ready to call them the Pelicans yet) taking on salary anyway.

IF all it took was expiring contracts? Yes. I'd rather slightly overpay Gordon than vastly overpay an average player in free agency. It's a gamble...but playing it safe isn't going to get us anywhere. Not giving up the #7 pick (even in a wk draft) for the privilege of taking on that financial risk.

Eric Gordon doesn't have alot of value but outside of offering Jerebko, Knight, and DNP-CV for him straight up i'd pass in any other offer or form. Not taking on that salary without giving it up.

Expiring of Stuckey with Siva and jerebko works for me.

I want Ryan Anderson in any deal for Gordon as well.
Monroe, Jerebko, Stuckey and Villanueva for Gordon, Anderson and Jason Smith, maybe a future pick also

There's no combination of players I would want in return for Monroe, unless Anthony Davis was in that deal somewhere.

A nice rule for teams who want to compete for a title- don't pay max contracts to guys who aren't max contract players. Eric Gordon is NOT a max contract player by any stretch of the imagination.

Maybe not, but he's certainly more talented than Monroe, you know, the guy who will get close to a MAX contract next summer.

I'll take the reliable consistency of Monroe, over Gordon's 40-50 games per season. Over the last three seasons he's only played in 107 out of 246, playing in 43% of the games.

And at that, in the 42 games Gordon played last season, he only averaged 17 PPG at 40% shooting. I don't know how you can believe that he's "more talented" than Monroe. I'll gladly take 16 & 10, over 17 and 3 (assists).

I don't agree with that rule. Look at Brooklyn for example. Pierce, KG, and JJ are all very overpayed at this point in their careers yet they are a contender because their owner is willing to spend. If Joe feels like he can vault us into the top 4 in the East by taking on a big contract then he should do it. You have to make some sacrifices if you want to win and overpaying players if often one of those sacrifices.
