Good on Collins for doing it, took a lot of balls, I'm sure that nobody is going to disagree with that. Pointless thread imo.

Collins stating that he's gay shouldn't be a big deal... but it is because he's the first.

Why people make a big deal of it is beyond me. I really can't comprehend why you should hate someone who is gay, black, asian, blue, blonde, jewish, polish etc etc

Who cares? We all put our pants on one leg at a time, we all live on the same planet, we all bleed red...

Why is it such a big deal for a guy to "love" a guy? Aren't there enough studies that prove you can't actually control yourself when you are "in love"?

Doesn't our brain and body function differently when we're in close proximity to our "partner"?

If so and if you can't actually choose who you love then why hate some guy for being gay, or some girl for being a lesbian?

I just don't understand why it's an issue? If a guy is gay then that's cool - we can hang out, play basketball, have a beer and all that. I go home to my wife - he goes home to his partner... who cares?

You're right, it absolutely shouldn't be a big deal. But it is because unfortunately many people, in this country and throughout the world, won't accept individual equality. Millions of people, of all ages and races, deal with this issue everyday. It's unfortunate that it took so long, but I am extremely grateful for Collins' courage to be the first. I'm also impressed by the overwhelming support throughout the NBA.

It shouldn't matter, but it is very reassuring that now we can say it doesn't. And I am 100% sure that Collins willingness to share his personal experiences will save some lives.

^There really is no point in speculating something like that.

Not really speculating, more like joking.

Who ever it is, good for them if they come out.
