Trading for Andrea Bargnani if we get an asset in Return
WT says they are looking to trade him. Most likely they'll need to include an asset to get rid of him. I'm not saying he's a starter, but he would make a great backup PF, albeit a grossly overpaid one. Would you be willing to blow a portion of our cap space on any of the following trades?
Stuckey for Bargs/Ross
CV for Bargs/Ross
Stuckey for Bargs/2014 1st
CV/Stuckey for Bargs/Amir/Ross
Stuckey for Bargs/Ross
CV for Bargs/Ross
Stuckey for Bargs/2014 1st
CV/Stuckey for Bargs/Amir/Ross

What's that stuff you can buy at the pharmacy that you drink to force yourself to vomit? Yeah, that's how I feel about Bargs; he literally turns my stomach, but if that's what we've gotta do to get healthy then we should suck it up, drink the stuff and puke our brains out. CGC's trade ideas are particularly strong 'cuz using Stuck & CV doesn't really eat up our cap space (I know it uses potential cap space and I'm splitting hairs, but we'd still have plenty of room for other signings and trades), and Ross, Amir or a 2014 1st rounder are really hard assets to turn down. As much as it physically disgusts me to type this, I think we'd have to make any of those deals.
(P.S. — Can the Raps even trade their 2014 1st rounder, since they traded this year's to OKC?)

I don't believe they can trade their 2014 first rd pick unless they secure another one via trade.

If we can get Bargs and some other guy or a pick, i wouldnt mind it. He'd make a great backup PF coming on for Monroe.

I actually like Bargnani as a stretch 4 off the bench. The Okur comparison is what I was thining too.
But not at the price his contract is worth. He's too similar a player to CV, and his contract is too similar.
Bottom line, we shouldn't be using our capspace on backups until we get our starting lineup settled, and the only starters from TOR I'd consider taking for Bargnani would be Derozan, Gay, or Lowry. If they aren't offering that, they have nothing that we need for our starting lineup. We can get a starting SG better than Ross elsewhere without having to take on a big contract of a bench player to do it.

PROPER SENTENCES USING THE WORDS "ANDREA BARGNANI" AND "GREAT" —
1) Toronto's new G.M is going to GREAT lengths to trade ANDREA BARGNANI.
2) Drafting ANDREA BARGNANI with the #1 overall pick was a GREAT mistake by the Raptors.
3) The three finest works of fiction ever written are The GREAT Gatsby, The Old Man and the Sea, and a RealGM post praising ANDREA BARGNANI as a defender.
4) With GREAT effort, ANDREA BARGNANI actually secured two rebounds in last night's game.
5) "GREAT Balls of FIre" by Jerry Lee Lewis is ANDREA BARGNANI's favorite song.
And that's it.
(I'm actually still in favor of trading for him if we get at least one good asset back, but let's not kid ourselves — we'd be making the trade for whatever else came along with him, NOT him. He's basically nothing more than a more-expensive version of CV with an extra year on his contract at this point.)

Re: Trading for Andrea Bargnani if we get an asset in Return
Bargnani is probably one of the worst big men in the league. He's owed 10 million per over the next 2 seasons. His shooting percentages would be poor for a guard. He's never averaged more than 6.2 rebounds a game, and the one season he averaged that he also averaged 35mpg. His FG% and 3pt% have both been declining the past 2 years. I don't care what asset we get back for taking him, you don't take on Bargnani. I wouldn't take him on for any player currently on their roster, nor any number of future firsts. We're about to be done with Charlie Villanueva, why would you want to take on AN EVEN WORSE PLAYER?!

If we can get Bargs/Ross for Stuckey, we'd have to do that deal.

Yes they can. They can't trade their 2014 first round pick before the 2013 draft.

Re: Trading for Andrea Bargnani if we get an asset in Return
From the article, it seems pretty clear that they'll be amnestying him before making any of the trades suggested here. If we had the choice between trading CV along with one of our best assets (say this year's 1st rounder) and simply amnestying him, what would you do?
The article says Ujiri is going to 'look' for a taker. Once he finds out how low league-wide opinion is of Bargs, he'll see that no one actually wants the guy...or else he'll find some dumb team who still believes in his potential. But Ujiri is smart and there's no way he's signing off on giving up a key asset for no return.

Re: Trading for Andrea Bargnani if we get an asset in Return
I agree that based on fit he'd make a solid 3rd big for us.
C: Drummond (34)/Monroe (14)
PF: Monroe (20)/ Barfnani (28)
Or something like that. But at his price tag??? Whatever that additional asset is, it would have to be pretty damn enticing, and I have no clue what that would be. They'd certainly have to eat Jerebko's contract, probably take back Stuckey and find some way to get us an attractive pick in return...and I still dunno that I'd do it.
And that assumes we'd be willing to amnesty CV and that we aren't able to land a major FA this off-season and maybe aren't super interested in next seasons FA class. Mebbe he becomes an attractive expiring that we are able to flip next Summer, but ugh... tough sell. Very tough.

THIS!
IF they can't find someone stupid enough to take him they'll amnesty him and move on
